My name is Brendan and I’m a smart, funny, romantic and geeky guy looking for people to share interests with and to enjoy the life with... I’m not looking for games; I want the real deal.

Before going any farther I will mention that I'm polyamorous. (Yes, I know mixing Greek and Latin root words is wrong but I didn't make up the word.) I am in relationships and have time and energy for more. If you are looking for a romantic relationship and that's a problem thanks for looking but we aren't going to work out. If that isn't a problem or you just want some new friends read on and I hope to get to know you.

Friendship is one of the most important aspects in any relationship, what I can say about myself is that I am a true friend first. I like to share interests and be exposed to new things. I am a great listener and I care; when I ask you how your day was, I genuinely want to know. I am a born romantic and I am very affectionate; I love to snuggle.

I’m a social guy. I'm *very* extroverted. I feel best surrounded by 750 of my close friends as we listen to live music, dance, drink and talk together. I like hanging out with people, I like movies and TV shows, I like to hike and travel, I’m into beer tasting, I love music and I am always looking for a good concert.

Now for the geeky part: I’m a Software Engineer.

Yep, still travelling and doing the music thing. So far in 2013 I've been back to the Netherlands for Marillion Weekend and to Gettysburg for the Rites of Spring. I don't have any more trips extended trips planned this year but am going to focus on some camping and hiking in the Puget Sound area. I have a new backpack and tent and I'm itching to give them a try.

Still travelling and exploring the world. Preparing for another jaunt to the Netherlands for a music festival. I successfully completed an overnight backpacking trip and am very stoked to be able do do something I love again. For a long time I thought injuries from my time in the Marine Corps was going to prevent me from backpacking again. Now I know that's not true and am already planning the next trek.

Older:
I achieved one of my life goals with a recent trip to the Netherlands. If I had the travel bug before I've got a full on five alarm fever to travel now. This was just the beginning.

Recently I returned from Gettysburg where I attended the Rites of Spring festival. Later in June 2012 I'll be flying down to Los Angeles to attend two Marillion concerts and one in San Francisco. Farther out on the horizon I'll be headed back to the Netherlands to attend the IO Pages festival and in 2013 there will be another trip to the Netherlands for the Marillion Convention.

Along with the travel I'm working to grow a community of like minded music fans in the Seattle area to draw some of the bands here for concerts.

Making my friends laugh. I've been told more than once I should consider a career as a comedian.

My eyes get quite a few comments, but I think it's my personality that strikes first. I try to be outgoing and friendly to all and will greet a stranger with a friendly "Hello!"

Who am I kidding, it's the hat. Everyone loves the hat.

I enjoy a lot of books with all kinds of subjects. My top favorite genres are the kind of horror that creeps you out and has you checking the shadows. For example, The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson. I also enjoy stories that involve a world of mystery and majesty just beneath our own. Examples of this would be Neverwhere and Stardust by Neil Gaiman.

As with books there are a lot of movies I enjoy, but there are two kinds of movies I like most. The first kind are fun and entertaining. They can be silly or just filled with action. Some examples of these would be The Princess Bride and Zorro: The Gay Blade. The other kind are serious films that should be classified as art. Shindler's List and Wings of Desire being examples of the second kind.

There is too much good music in the world to limit my choices to just a few favorites. It also really depends on what's going on around me. At a party I like to get my groove on to pop music of the 80s. At work I'm usually listening to progressive rock as it helps me to focus. I love checking out local acts at live venues. My favorite band is Kansas. Don't mention Dust in the Wind unless you are ready to hear a list of their better but lesser known works. ;) I've also discovered a love for Ayreon and his long string of related concept albums.

I haven't had a typical Friday night in a while. All I can say about Friday is it's the day after Thursday and it comes before Saturday.
