My self-summary
I'm the type of guy who likes to stop to pet cats that cruise around the neighborhood, and apparently someone who thought it would be funny to have my username be "Homopopsicle" when I made this account 6 years ago.

I have a goofy sense of humor and strive to be compassionate towards every person I meet. The beach is my sanctuary and I make it a priority to be active and immerse myself in nature as much as possible. Surfing and hiking are among my favorite activities. I find watching Netflix or playing a board game far more appealing than going a nightclub, though I wouldn't say no to a nice dinner and a glass of wine.
What I’m doing with my life
Working as a behavioral therapist for kids with autism. I'm currently applying to graduate school where I anticipate getting my master's degree in speech-language pathology.
I’m really good at
surfing, swimming, lucid dreaming, exploring and understanding multiple perspectives
The first things people usually notice about me
Hopefully my friendly demeanor, but probably the Harry Potter-esque scar above my eyebrow
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: memoirs, murder mysteries, non-fiction, historical fiction, anything that can catch my attention within the first few pages. I'm particularly fond of David Sedaris.

Movies: documentaries, independent, psychological thrillers, comedies, sci -fi, historical fiction, Disney, Pixar. Some favorites: Step into Liquid, Samsara, Baraka, Wall-e, Mean Girls

Shows: Parks and Recreation, Criminal Minds, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Workaholics, Orange is the New Black, Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, How I Met Your Mother, 30 Rock

Music: I like a little bit of everything. Sigur Ros is pretty rad.

Food: Mexican, Thai, Japanese, Indian, avocados, pineapple, cheese, chocolate, coffee, and begrudgingly gluten-free altneratives due to skin allergies
The six things I could never do without
the beach, dog and kitty snuggles, an internet connection, a good night's sleep, coffee or tea, gluten-free bread
I spend a lot of time thinking about
interpreting my own dreams, simple and understandable ways of explaining abstract concepts to children, what I should be doing with my hands, planning my next meal
On a typical Friday night I am
Ideally, playing board games or seeing a movie with friends, but more often watching something on netflix, doing a crossword puzzle or reading.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I enjoy traveling, but flying terrifies me.
You should message me if
you are open-minded, enjoy the beach, aren't afraid of being goofy and laughing at yourself
