I could probably write almost anything here, yet it really all comes down to chemistry, good conversation... and who doesn't enjoy the company of someone thoughtful and witty. I think that there's just no substitute for making each other laugh. And while I find physical attraction to be nice, I'm looking for more than just that. I'm looking for a man of depth and substance... a man with equal parts intelligence, chivalry and innocent playfulness.
I am an INFJ personality type. To learn more about that click here: http://www.personalitypage.com/html/INFJ.html
Looking for a special someone who would enjoy getting to know me -even as a friend-and spending some fun weekends together.
You can find me kicking up my heels swing dancing on Wednesday and Friday nights, especially when a live big band is rocking the house! I once participated in a dance performance opening for the Big Bad Voodoo Daddies. Extra points if you’ve heard of them! I love all kinds of music, but my favorites are jazz, blues, big band, Motown/R&B, and country love songs. I love the vintage era of the 40's, so a man who can relate to old-fashioned chivalry is a plus in my book. ;) What's your favorite country song?
My passion in life is supporting animals of all kinds. The thought of an animal suffering causes me sadness. I try to volunteer my time and skills as a children’s face painter/ balloon artist towards charity events for animals. I just recently raised $600 for Noah’s Ark Rescue that contributes veterinary care for abused dogs. I even try to support a vegetarian diet as much as possible, although I don’t impose my diet on others. Animals are such innocent blessings. What's your favorite animal?
Another of my passions is working with children. I worked as an elementary school teacher for a several years and I have a Master’s degree in education. While I never cared that much for school as a kid, I have really grown to love learning as an adult. I aspire to earn a doctorate when I am eligible. Needless to say, I appreciate a man who is educated and can hold an intelligent conversation. My kind of man is a thinker, not the guy with a shirtless profile pic. I'm not all serious though and I love to joke around. I love to laugh...if my TV is on; it’s on the comedy channel. I love Family Guy, Adventure Time, Big Bang Theory or The Walking Dead! (I love zombies). Who's your favorite character on TWD? Mine's is Daryll. :)
I currently work for a genetics lab in Torrey Pines. Quite a switch from teaching—I do plan to go back one day to teaching when the economy does a little better.
So, what am I doing on OkCupid? I'm looking for my best friend, someone that will be there for me as much as I am there for him. Reciprocity is BIG for me. Ronald Reagan once said, "I've passed through a thousand crowded places; but there was only one person who could make me lonely by just leaving the room." [Speaking of his wife Nancy]. That is the kind of relationship I am looking for!
I'm interested in dating with the option of a relationship with the right person. I was married for four years and really enjoyed being married. I would like to find a special someone again one day. Friends first. At 33 I think I have a good idea of who I am and who I'm looking for.. Witty subject lines grab my attention more than a "Hi" or a "Hey." There seems to be 3 types of men on here: 1.) the ones who ask immediately for your number so they can ask for more “private” pictures, or want to bombard me with such. 2.) the ones who ask for a number only to text every day to just say “hi,” but never ask for a date. 3.) the ones who ask for the number and proceed to offer an invitation to meet. Hopefully, you are the third. :)
