My Notes edit
My self-summary
So far I've been to Thailand and Burning Man, and my next trip will be Japan!
I love exploring other cultures and languages. I've had a love affair with Japanese culture all my life, and I mean the older culture, not manga or cosplay.
I really love good food, beer, wine, etc. Especially spicy food. I cook some mean Thai! I used to brew beer, but just haven't for a few years. Unfortunately I don't have the fast metabolism I used to. I'm not the lithe, sexy mofo I used to be...well, ok, I'm dead sexy, just not so skinny. But, I'm more interested in those who value substance over packaging anyway.
I have an odd sense of humor. It's rather twisted and nothing is sacred. It's odd to be very compassionate and kind, yet I can laugh at anything.
I know the term "laid-back" is overused, but it's rather apt in my case. It's really hard to offend me and not much bothers me. I'm passionate about certain things in life, but can't stand drama. I figure, if there's anything wrong, talk about it, resolve it and move on. Life should be enjoyed and lived, not complained about.
I've got a geeky side to me that enjoys Serenity, Battlestar Galactica, Lord of the Rings, videogames, etc., but I also love to explore nature and try to find interesting things to do (when it's not 100+ degrees outside). Oregon was too cold, Arizona's too hot and Hawai'i had no jobs...what to do?
I like to be silly, laugh a lot, and have fun. And no, I'm not the eternal child either. I have as much depth as I have silliness and I like to wear whatever hat fits the moment. Sometimes both!
I'm a bit of a dichotomy in that I'm not at all materialistic or career-driven, but I still have definite goals. It's just that they revolve around experiences rather than achievements. I don't care a whit for social status or traditional roles, but I'm not a deadbeat either. Simply unconventional.
Ok, so here's the scoop:
Mutual and amicable divorce over a year ago (amicable? yes, we grew into friends and decided to just be that rather than fake it). Now, looking for a really cool girlfriend. Not looking for marriage and don't want to have kids. I just want a compatible companion to cuddle with on the couch while watching movies, give footrubs to, travel with from time to time, and simply share affection and good experiences. Though I really miss affection, I'm not in a hurry. I'm willing to take my time to find a truly compatible person, and I'm not much interested in a quick fling. Might be fun under the right circumstances, but it's not what I'm seeking.
I've been told it's good to leave some mystery, but screw it. Here's my MySpace, if you're interested in learning more: myspace.com/omnithought
