I am literature lover, punk-rocker, and revolutionary.

My Self-Summary

I'm a rather easy-going sort of chap all in all. My life centres around books, studying and work(sadly the other one, its a ruddy-awful time mostly).

Check out me myspace if yer so inclined:myspace.com/fionnmaccumhaill1986

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently working on my B.A. in English and Sociology, with a minor in French at Ball State University. To pay for said education, I'm also a Collections and Financial Specialist for SLM Corp. Which, the job pays a decent wage for a student I suppose, but is not amazing by any stretch of the imagination. I spend the rest of my time playing my guitar when I can, studying the Irish language to get re-acquainted with it.

I’m really good at

Discussing politics in such a way that I think even Bill O'Reilly could not get into a shouting match with me, and doing so without conceding a point. I also have a real knack for referencing things in history to get my point across(I'm a huge history buff)

The first things people usually notice about me

The beard, or er, goatee. My flat-cap, which I wear any time I'm not at work.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

My favourite author of all time is James Joyce, all of his books would go in this first category. Essentially, to put it in a shortened form, Irish literature from the 1800's-1900's, leftist political books, and some, yes, I'll admit it, manga and graphic novels

I'm a huge foreign film fan, but domestically, I would say anything by Kevin Smith. Oh, and of course 30-40's films, that was a great period. A few of my top favourite films include Green Street Hooligans, Football Factory, The Departed, The Wind That Shakes The Barley, Intermission, oh yeah, and any James Cagney or Bogart films.

Music can be summed up by genres mostly. Celtic, Punk, and Jazz. A few bands/artists I enjoy most include: The Pogues, The Clash, Dropkick Murphys, The Dubliners, the Tossers, the Street Dogs, Stiff Little Fingers, The Jam, The Business, The Zero Boys, the Buzzcocks, and also a little Coltrane, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, and the like.

I actually like British Isles food. Really. Coming from an Irish upbringing, I can fix shepherds pie, rashers, Ulster(or Scotch as their also known) eggs, and the like. Brilliant stuff. Mexican, Spanish(they are different...way different), and Japanese faire are also a good thing.

The six things I could never do without

Irish music. I live, breath, and die by it.

Books. They are truly the best media-form even in the 21st century.

Whiskey. No explaining needed.

Jazz. Its a painting that you can hear, and I love it.

My family. We don't always see eye-to-eye, but I love them to death.

Friends. This also does not need to be stated why.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Politics, humanity in all of its glory, and all of its downfalls, and of course getting the fuck out of Indiana when I finish university.

On a typical Friday night I am

Boozing it up with my mates, whilst chilling out listening to music, or occasionally at a pub.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm Irish. I don't admit many private things.
