I came of age along the hudson river, did undergrad in Boston and figured it out in my 20's in San Francisco. I moved back here in '97 and found my ambitions in the art world and higher education.

I miss what the west coast has to offer (easy riding motorcycles), but I'm happiest right here where I grew up. I see as much as I can in the performing arts and take trips out of the city for my mini-vacations up to Woodstock and Beacon as often as possible. The worlds BEST donuts are a mere 2 hours from here!

I love a good Pinot that makes me squint with pleasure, a warm hand on the back of my neck and endless hours of talking and trading stories.

I travel frequently, visiting the best (tokyo, paris) and not so sexy (milwaukee and pittsburgh). But I love it all. Planes, trains & automobiles. I have traveled solo plenty of times (camping in Grindelwald anyone?), but what I value most is a co-pilot (or pilot!) on these journeys...sharing moments of discovery, warmth and possibility.

I am looking to be surprised and challenged, meeting someone I might not normally meet in my circles. I have a great life, full of ambitions, living a full lifestyle looking for someone who would enjoy it with me in a long term relationship. Someone who thinks they can challenge me and add to an already awesome life. I am attracted to strong minded and independent women who are clear on who they are, but are soft enough to receive the care and generosity of a good man.

i like a someone who can be a little goofy, a little devil on occasion...with a mad sense of humor, super smart (not necessarily bookish though) and doesn't mind getting a little dirty.

i have a gallery where i work with 20 incredible artists, fighting the good fight to get their work out there and support their careers. i teach impressionable young minds a thing or two about photography a few times a week.

fixing stuff, seeing things clearly, innovating, never forgetting and bringing together a good mix of friends over dinner at the gallery.

i am the tall guy...

literature: if you haven't already, pick up Just Kids...never wanted it to end. A masterpiece. Innocent by Scott Turow, a great courtroom drama that had me guessing until the very end. Love the suspense and the danger! Knee deep into Maximum City, riveting to learn about Mumbai.

movies: usually independent, quirky. take me to the film forum, angelika or sunshine and i will be just fine.... but I also let it out with a little action blockbuster (guilty pleasure).

music: well, I am listening to Death Cab for Cutie right now, but usually enjoy alternative, ambient, hardcore 'lite' and jazz....PJ Harvey, Band of Horses, Husker Du, Eno, Philip Glass, Interpol, Mazzy Star, Replacements, Grizzly Bear, Buju Banton, Miles.. i appreciate diversity. recently saw Iron & Wine at Radio City. fantastic.

i like spicey food and italian best. japanese cuisine is also a turn on.
