My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
“No, no! The adventures first, explanations take such a dreadful time.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

I am currently riding a wave of personal freedom in my life, and seeing where it takes me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working in the organic agriculture industry. I'm learning to be a good leader, and making plenty of mistakes along the way!

I just bought a house, and it's pretty fun. I'm looking to settle eventually and I suppose this is a good first step.

When I'm not at work, I'm riding my motorcycle (2014 BMW F700GS) around Wisconsin! I just moved back from Northern California, and it is so good to be home. Do you like riding motorcycles?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm a great cook! I love to cook food, from whatever odd thing I'm cooking myself for dinner, to classic fine dining and multiple course meals. I learned many of my technical skills working in the food service industry, but I have always had the passion for flavor.

I know my way around an internal combustion engine. I do all my own work on my car and motorcycle, and am usually game to help a friend with simple repairs. I like the mechanical simplicity of old engines, but have yet to delve into my mystery of modern car computers. I learned this growing up on a farm, fixing tractors.

I love making cocktails- I don't often use any recipes, but rather build on basic elements that work well together, and experiment. Sometimes the end result is utterly unpalatable, but the weirdest ideas often end up working.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My hair is usually a mess. I have made attempts to tame it, with little success. When I'm tired, I can be very quiet, but when I'm feeling energetic I am a bubbling source of creative energy and passion. People often comment on my midwestern friendliness and my intermittent southern vernacular.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I like beat poetry, and books with strong visual discriptors. I like stories that immerse me deeply enough that it makes it hard to put the book down. For non-fiction, I get my fix online. I often visit to browse niche subreddits and learn new skills ( )and plenty of rarely useful trivia ( )

Movies: I love Tarantino, the Coen Brothers, old war movies (The Thin Red Line being perhaps my favorite), documentaries and most movies that make me think.

Shows: I like the old classic Arrested Development, BBC's Top Gear, Archer, Bob's Burgers, Futurama, almost any cooking show (I dislike most reality TV, but I'm a sucker for Hells Kitchen, Masterchef, Top Chef, Iron Chef, Chopped, etc.

Music: There is so much good music out there! I grew up on a diet of classic rock and folk, and have since branched out to hip hop, rock, pop, anti-folk, indie, metal, alt rock and many other genres. I am passionate about music, and strive never to lose track of all the great new albums released!

As of writing this, [Updated 8/19/15] the last 10 artists I listened to on my itunes were, in order:
Kendrick Lamar
Hot Chip
Buddy Guy
Father John Misty
Unknown Mortal Orchestra
St. Paul and The Broken Bones
Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment

Food: Cooking is one of my greatest passions and talents, as mentioned above. I love to entertain and cook for my friends. My favorite foods to cook are meats and seafood, veggies and starches (mostly potatoes, I try to stay away from pastas), and delicious cocktails to pair with dinner! I am still working on the whole "baking" thing, as I am pretty bad at following recipes and baking seems to be very science based. If only I had a baker, my meals would be so much more complete!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A motorcycle. I love the freedom.

Witty humor.

Sharp Knives. (for cooking, of course).

Love. Needs no explanation.

Internet Access. I thrive on the connection to the greater world community, current events news and articles, and the "Reddit is under a heavy load" message.

Curiosity. Its important to wonder, and to make good on finding out!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Orders of magnitude. Some things are so big, and some things are incredibly small!

I spend a lot of time thinking about how to balance my needs and my desires.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Eating a nice dinner out, or a cozy dinner in with friends or a lover.

Enjoying a drink outside, preferably with a good view!

Dancing and rabble rousing. Like most people, I swear I'm not a very "good" dancer, but I always have fun!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am at times awkward and shy in overwhelming social situations. It takes me a while to warm up to large groups of people. You probably won't notice this though, it usually presents as something that looks like boredom/tired, which is embarrassing and often conveys the wrong message. I'm good with a small party though, especially when there is beer involved!
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
Message me if you'd like to take a ride on my motorcycle (I have an extra helmet), or if you're afraid of motorcycles and want to talk about it! Message me if you're curious about me, and, further connection willing, would like to meet me.
