I like beat poetry, and books with strong
visual discriptors. I like stories that immerse me deeply enough
that it makes it hard to put the book down. For non-fiction, I get
my fix online. I often visit reddit.com to browse niche subreddits
and learn new skills ( http://www.reddit.com/r/iwanttolearn
plenty of rarely useful trivia (
I love Tarantino, the Coen Brothers, old
war movies (The Thin Red Line being perhaps my favorite),
documentaries and most movies that make me think.
I'm currently watching the new season of
Arrested Development, the new season of BBC's Top Gear, Archer,
Bob's Burgers, Futurama, almost any cooking show (I dislike most
reality TV, but I'm a sucker for Hells Kitchen, Masterchef, Top
Chef, Iron Chef, Chopped, etc.
There is so much good music out there! I
grew up on a diet of classic rock and folk, and have since branched
out to hip hop, rock, pop, anti-folk, indie, metal, alt rock and
many other genres. I am passionate about music, and strive never to
lose track of all the great new albums released!
As of writing this, the last 10 artists I listened to on my itunes
were, in order:
The Tallest Man on Earth
The Hold Steady
Cooking is one of my greatest passions and
talents, as mentioned above. I love to entertain and cook for my
friends. My favorite foods to cook are meats and seafood, veggies
and starches (mostly potatoes, I try to stay away from pastas), and
delicious cocktails to pair with dinner! I am still working on the
whole "baking" thing, as I am pretty bad at following recipes and
baking seems to be very science based. If only I had a baker, my
meals would be so much more complete!
