I am kind, easy going, and quirky.

My Self-Summary

Hello, my name is Ryan. I am a waiter for a fine dining restaurant, and a student at the University of Arizona. I live with my brother & one of my best friends. I'm like a big contradiction in a box. I like being active and playing a little football or going rock climbing. I'm pretty diverse as I like sports, gaming, and heavy metal, and I'm a Buddhist. Buddhism can't explain all of my spirituality, but it is the closest match. I've always felt compassionate towards others and am very forgiving, almost too forgiving I'm told. Not that I really get mad at people often anyways.
I'm not a very artisitc person, but I find that quality in women very attractive. I love to observe and just be supportive even if I may not directly participate.
I am a accepting person. I may have my beliefes, I may be open minded, but your beliefes will not typically be attacked if I disagree unless they're hateful or colse-minded. FOR EXAMPLE!!!: homosexuality is a sin, my religion is right and yours is wrong, or fervent racism. <---- MAJOR TURN OFFS!! Other than that, for the most part I can agree to disagree.
I'm really into horse-play with a significant other, just messing around. It gives me a chance to be goofy too.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a student at the University of Arizona, and a Waiter at Anthony's in the Catalinas.

I'm also trying (key word trying) to be a good Buddhist and further myself on my own path to enlightenment. I'm trying to find a good montra to finish 12,000 repatitions. I have a green sanskrit OM tattoo on my back.

"My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness." - His Holieness the Dalai Lama.
- No I dont worship him, its a title.

I’m really good at

Well, I'm good at history and gaming. I haven't really found a great talent, but I tend to be well rounded.

The first things people usually notice about me

People tend to notice my quirky additude that seems like a contradiction to how I appear. I dress like a metalhead, but I dont act as prickly as my apparel might imply.
They also notice my curly hair and that I'm really thin. Not an unhealthy looking thin, but a marathon runner thin. Ha! Currently I would be lucky to get through three miles in a non-stop jog.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I like Tom Clancy novels like the Jack Ryan series and philosophy/spirituality books, particularly by His Holieness the Dalai Lama.

As far as movies go I love comedy. Airplane!, Mel Brooks fims, and Monty Python come to mind first.

I love heavy metal music although I do really enjoy classical, most rock & alternative, and oldies. I can put up with rap, hip-hop, country, and even a little emo for a while. I dont know why because I seriously respect the artform, but most jazz, except swing, sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me.

I really like Italian, and bad Americanized Chinese food.

The six things I could never do without

1. Heavy metal! It has seriously helped me get through some tough times. I love the beet, the speed, the adrenaline, and the power. I am really a very passive person (and used to be a pasifist) so I often find the music therapudic. I would appreciate being able to subject a significant other to metal from time to time but it's not highly important. As long as you respect it as an artform, I'll be happy.

2. cuddling (with someone special), 3. my best friends, 4. my brother

5. Freedom of speech & 6. my right to bear arms. Once one is abolished the other is likely not far behind. I dont mind if anyone is anti-guns & I can respectfully disagree with them so long as it doesnt become too much of a problem that I will have a weapon. I will fight to bear arms. It's our human right to fight against a super oppressive government after passive resistance fails (which of corse I would do first). Nakita Kruschev (Soviet dictator after Stalin) said it best, that invading the United States would be insane if for no other reason than half the populus has a firearm. Funny how our recent leadership didn't take that same advice...

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Politics and philosophy. Contemplating ethics and existance is mind boggling and I love it.

On a typical Friday night I am

At work until about 10-11 ish. I need to find a new thing because all my friends have left for the semester again. I used to party more often until most of my crew started going to NAU.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Welp, I am known to play some dungeons & dragons. Yes it's nerdy, yes it's fun, no it doesnt consume my life, nor do I dress up in my mothers basement. I dont really act nerdy though, more goofy. I just wish people would give it half a glance over before writing d&d players off as wierdo's or socially akward. It's a hobby just like any other.

A little more private, I get allergies... bad allergies. I try to keep it under control and behave appropriatley, but If you're with me long enough I will have bad weeks were I'm not sick, but I might as well be. I will be gross. I know some get really grossed out when they finally see the dark side of my allergies, but try living with them.

You should message me if

I seem interesting... why else? I am religiously tolerant, I just dont want to be attacked for my own. I know my awards seem man-whoreish, but I really am open. When I am in a relationship I am very committed and I'm willing to take my time in furthering a relationship. I'm not going to drop someone as soon as I get sex, I simply value it in a relationship, and thats what I'm really looking for here, is a monogomous relationship. I've been in a polyamorous relationship... I really ended up hating it. Every time I needed support from a stressful week to my good friend dying, that person wouldn't be there. I really wan't that kind of relationship where both parties are there for eachother. I know that takes time and I'm willing to put it forth... assuming I'm interested.
