Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
New to SoCal! Few friends and fewer experiences here so far, but
maybe y'all OKCupe-o's can change that, yeah?
I love the power of media. Specifically, I'm interested in how the
heck we can legitimize the medium of video games. Let's tell some
stories with them!
I was born in Florida! I lived in the Bay for 3 years before moving
here, San Luis Obispo before that, and the Bay again before that. I
don't watch T.V. or drink soda. My favorite insult is to call
something "warm garbage." I've got two degrees--so I'm definitely
twice as smart as somebody with one degree (only half as smart as
somebody with 4 degrees, though :( )
Note: white as a ghost
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work at a little game studio called Blizzard ;O I'm a technical
artist. Some of my job is programming tools for artists. Some of it
is troubleshooting and streamlining the art production process.
Basically, my job is to make making art easy!
Year four of my five-year-plan consists of "Learn japanese" and
"Learn the banjo" but I'm thinking I should move one or both of
those things up on the timetable.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Picking up programming languages. I learned C# in a day
I can predict when my alarm clock is going to go off and wake up
ten minutes before it does. I can touch-type with my just my index
fingers like a MO-FUGGA.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't sweat. It's a blessing and a curse (mostly a curse).
I'm skinny as heck (the not sweating makes exercise unpleasant
unless it's really cold outside, and it SURE AS HECK isn't ever
cold outside in Santa Ana :'( )
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Music: Favorite album is No Balance Palace by Kashmir. It and
Nirvana Unplugged used to get me through the 4-hour drive between
San Luis Obispo and Oakland. I fucking love Buke and Gase. I'm
currently over-listening to Westkust.
My favorite book is Blood Meridian. I dig good (read: old) sci-fi.
Not currently reading anything; haven't found a library in the area
that I like yet. Recommend something!
My favorite movie is The Fountain. Darren Aronofsky has never made
a bad movie in my eyes (this includes Noah, which was a bad movie).
David Lynch has made one. The Coen brothers are p great
Food: I can't eat cheese and I love velveeta. Life is suffering??
Cantelope is the God-Fruit, but bananas are close (let's say
Pope-Fruit). I like sherbet more than ice cream.
My favorite video game is Kentucky Route Zero.
Last but not least, WEBCOMICS: Unsounded. Judecca. Vattu. Cucumber
Quest. A Lesson Is Learned But The Damage Is Irreversible.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Eyesight. Thin button-downs. Wind. Air conditioning. People smarter
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What the back of my own head looks like.
Rendering. Why the heck is real-time reflection so dang
processor-intensive? OH MY GOD I'M A NERD
I've lately spent a lot of time trying to reconcile my desire to
make video games with the gross-ass shambles that is the games
industry. Most games aren't worth anybody's time, so I try doubly
hard to be aware of the ones that are.
Politics and economics. My place in the future America. The
subjectivity of "having your shit together"
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Breathing and sometimes eating and almost certainly using most of
my senses to be aware of whatever environment I find myself in.
Sometimes I drink with friends! Sometimes I sit at home and watch
Youtube (BEST FRIENDS ZAIBATSU). I'm never being obstinate and
refusing to do cool things if I know about cool things.
I play board games with friends at a cozy little bar in Long Beach
on Sundays. That's my "friday night," to be honest.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Flavored chapstick is way better than plain chapstick.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You find me SEXY AS HELL, wanna smooch, and play through Kentucky
Route Zero w/ me
You wanna go kayaking! I love kayaking. Not, you know,
triple-diamond rapids or whatever. Just boatin' and floatin'. I'm
also into hiking and I LOVE snow things.
And finally: if you've got any constructive criticism about my
profile! I've got an utter lack of self awareness about this shit.
