My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Everything changes. This is good, as we should also be changing. When we fight change, even the changes in ourselves, we are at odds.

I am vegan, which has rekindled my love for cooking. I cook most of my food from scratch. I appreciate having large containers of food staples around so I can make a wide variety of foods by just throwing stuff together with produce from the garden. I never understood how important a sharp knife is until I bought my first nice set a few years ago. It's pretty darned important.

I really like gardening. Mostly, I focus on food production, but having the property look nice is also great. There is no food like home grown. This last year, I grew over 30 different vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Not that they were all successful; I'm still very much learning. I also grow and process as much of my own Stevia as possible, I have several grapevines that are awesome, I love bamboo, and I like experimenting with new crops. This spring, I am going to play with sugar cane and try to do better with growing Chia.

I think living with intention is really important. Then again, so is being absolutely capricious.

I really enjoy thinking, but not random thinking, thinking as in using my brain. I enjoy having little ideas bounce around in my head. Like figuring out how to make solar iPod chargers or a titanium ibrik for making Turkish coffee while backpacking. I enjoy finding and exploring the truth of things. Such as is ethanol really a good thing or is the way I react to my boss a result of me and my father's relationship -- and how do I want to change that.

I've been on surf-safaris in Mexico, rock-climbed all over the southwest, lived and traveled out of the back of my truck, scaled 600ft cliffs without ropes, I used to cliff dive after work, been up all night crying from a broken heart, I've marched for workers I did not know, manned a teen suicide prevention hotline, lived out of a camper on the beach, been so poor that I ate at bars during happy-hour even though I didn't drink, long-boarded on 5 minute waves, been a peer counselor, started a business, protested, ate 'bong-water chili, backpacked for two weeks unsupported, practiced Tai Chi, been lost in the woods, been absolutely poor, been relatively wealthy, been in immediate mortal danger, eaten gasoline doughnuts, given my love without any thought of consequences, been naked in public, confronted bosses, occupied, practiced jiu jitsu, trembled in fear, contemplated suicide and cured myself of a banana allergy.

"In spite of illness, in spite even of the archenemy sorry, one can remain alive long past the usual date of disintegration if one is unafraid of change, insatiable in intellectual curiosity, interested in big things, and happy in small ways."
- Edith Wharton, A Backward Glance

"You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you're hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward."
-from the movie, Rocky Balboa

BTW, that dating persona really does not sound like me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm relatively new to the bay area. I've been enjoying learning and exploring the area. I'd like to find more walking trails, hiking trails and some local rock climbing areas. After 3 years of being in a town with only a Starbucks, I'm grateful that there are locally owned, independent coffee shops out here.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Loving, laughing, listening, making mistakes, roasting coffee, backpacking, critical thinking, making intuitive leaps, teaching, learning, sitting and being aware, being an electrician, being crazy passionate and spontaneous.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My powerful, burning, haunting, blood-chilling piercing gaze. It intimidates men and inflames women. It also makes Honey Badgers re-think the impact their actions have on the world.

I am entering shit in here randomly:
The Tipping Point, Games People Play, just about anything from Anne Rice, just about anything with Will Ferrell, anything from Tom Robbins, anything from Eric Berne, most documentaries, Zatoichi, zombie movies, The Air I Breathe, Love Actually, SLC Punk!, all Southpark, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Just Add Water, Deep Survival, Freakonomics, Bold Native, Firefly, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Scripts People Live. I really love the documentaries by Adam Curtis.

Holy cow, how can Hyperbole and a Half be so funny and so very painful at the same time?

I haven't owned a TV in over a decade and don't miss it a bit.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My brothers, curiosity, home-roasted coffee, my MacBook, my joie de vivre, and humor.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I do not spend a lot of time thinking. Seriously. A decade of meditation has really paid off. When I am thinking, it's for a purpose, then the brain goes back to sleep.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
. . . meeting a friend for dinner or relaxing at home with dinner and a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am very particular about pens. I have a fondness for quantities that are divisible by 3. All my relationship solutions come from the book "Love Is Hell", by Matt Groening.
