I am dry, openminded, and offline.
My Self-Summary
TO DO: Update.
I enjoy a game of
poker while enjoying a bottle of
grolsch and listening to
anything but
hiphop/rap. I also like playing
bass though I'm not exactly good at it. I
also like to watch
movies, ranging from
comedies to
war movies.
Ridley Scott is one of my
favourite directors. And finally I occasionally write
poetry and/or
short stories, but
mainly in
dutch, the
only language I'm fluent enough in to toy with.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm studying English language now, with the goal of becoming a
subtitler. Some of the subtitles I've seen are cringeworthy and I'd
like to actually translate the story, and not just the words, for
the dutch viewers that don't actually listen to the film.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at making really dry comments out of the blue. Most
often hilarity ensues.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes, hair and my ethnicy; Take 7 countries, mix it up and add a
big spoonful of Indonesia and you've got me.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
(A) I don't read that much nowadays but I used to do it a lot when
I was younger. Hence my favourite books are most of the works of
Roald Dahl and Anthony Horowitz.
(B) The list of my favourite movies changes constantly, but a
couple that are definitely on my all time list are: Crouching Tiger
Hidden Dragon, The Terminator ( 1 and 2), the Alien trilogy (I
didn't like resurrection), Black Hawk Down, The Rock, Snatch, Lock
Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Memento and Amlie. Though
technically TV-series, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate SG-1 and
Futurama should be on that list as well.
(C) I'm open to every kind of music with the exception of modern
hiphop/rap. I really like The Gorillaz, Anouk, Underworld,
Lagwagon, Foo Fighters and the Offspring.
(D)There's no absolute favourite food of mine, I'll eat most things
as long as it isn't too spicy (despite my Indonesian heritage) and
I really enjoy a wellprepared fish of steak. I'm not exactly a
vegetarian.
The six things I could never do without
My family, friends, my hands, my thoughts, spare-time, a pen and
paper or computer to write things on/with and finally I could never
do without tasty food.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The meaning of life, the possibilities if I did something a tad
different, things that are to come and fiction that'll someday make
it to a short story.
On a typical Friday night I am
Watching a movie or sitting behind a computerscreen.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
If someone has a British accent, they've immediately got my
attention.
You should message me if
you feel like it.
