I was married for 15 years then that ended in divorce (not my choice!). I remarried and my husband passed away from cancer (again, not my choice!) However, I am past grieving for anyone or anything and am looking for a supportive friend or devoted lover ...leading up to?
I started out my career as a junior high school teacher in Southern CA. However, after moving to Silicon Valley, I got a degree in Computer Science and worked at NASA, Space Sciences Division. I also worked as an IT systems manager at some of our Valley's Fortune 500 companies. Currently I'm working as an editor at an e-book publishing company.
As far as my personality goes, I'm sure my friends would describe me as down to earth - which is true - however, I have do have an artistic streak also! I always have some cute little hobby to work on or some research to be done. I enjoy creating a peaceful, beautiful home environment and using humor to make friends laugh. I live with my cat, Mr. Knightley.
I have traveled a bit and am fluent in the following: Canadian (eh?); Jamaican (hey mon); English (talleyho!); and French (La plume de ma tant est sur la table.). These days, however, I'm not so much into flying all over the place.
I like to participate in activities rather than watch. Some activities I'm interested in are: horseback riding, badminton, croquet, visiting friends, getting involved with some arts & crafts hobby, dining out, attending museums, concerts, etc... walking, hiking, camping (I love the outdoors!) and perhaps visiting national parks!
For compatibility I'm looking for someone who: enjoys physical contact; has a variety of interests; is open and accepting; and is happy with who they are. They should have a sense of the spiritual aspect of life. (I, myself, am a Catholic, and attend services religiously every Christmas and Easter.) I would like that special someone to be successful, mentally stable, does not smoke, and - this is important - has a sense of humor e.g. someone who can look at life, death, and yes, taxes, and be able to put a clever, witty, or humorous twist on it.
P.S. I like children, and cute, furry animals. Furthermore, I would like to see harsher penalties for repeat offenders and, - oh yes, - World Peace.
