I suck at writing these. It's not that I don't know what to write, it's that I don't know what NOT to write. In short: I love music (I sing in one band currently, trying to start more), I am broke, I am a nerd (with a PhD in Horribleness!), I'm an atheist, and I am polyamorous. That's the dating-important stuff :P

Oh, and sometimes I'm an asshole... but only to people who deserve it (I hope).

I want to be part of a touring band. Fame and fortune would be a nice bonus, but I'd be fine sleeping on floors and eating gas station hot dogs if it meant being able to perform every night. Assuming that doesn't work out (and it usually doesn't, but you gotta live the dream!), would love to break into the producing side of music.

Also, I have a recently inspired goal of playing Frank-N-Furter in a stage production of Rocky Horror.

Singing, arguing, soccer (or used to be... a bit rusty now), random and utterly pointless knowledge, and hopefully my job.

I am weird. I am OK with this. A top hat, spiked collar, dress shirt, skinny jeans, sneakers, and trench coat is a perfectly acceptable combination of clothing. Also, I have long hair and lip piercings, and I believe this is perfectly acceptable even in a white-collar business environment.

Books: Hyperion by Dan Simmons (cannot say enough amazing things about this book), American Gods by Neil Gaiman, Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card (bad person, great book), Breakfast Of Champions by Kurt Vonnegutt, Ready Player One by Ernest Cline, Guts by Chuck Pahlaniuk, Pet Sematary by Stephen King, A Scanner Darkly by Philip K. Dick, The Hunt For Red October by Tom Clancy, and The Lies Of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch are the books that stand out as worthy of special recognition. Also a fan of a lot of fantasy series and humor books, as long as they don't suck (Wheel of Time, Game of Thrones, The Gentleman Bastards series, if Scott Lynch ever finishes Republic of Thieves...). Currently going through everything written by Stephen King. His short story "N." is the creepiest thing I have ever read and makes me want to pick up some Lovecraft...

Movies: Blade Runner: Director's Cut, Garden State, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Reservoir Dogs, Jurassic Park, Dogma, Fight Club, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, and the rest changes too frequently to decide.

Shows: FIREFLY! Chuck, True Blood (shut up, it's good even if it is a soap), The Walking Dead, various anime (Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, and Trigun are the best I have seen, so I'm a bit mainstream, I guess), Archer, and yes, even Glee (it's no worse than 80s high-school-comedy movies, and often quite a bit better). Just starting on Supernatural, Star Trek: The Original Series and Doctor Who (but I'm on the 1963 black & white series, so it'll be a LONG time before I'm caught up...)

Music: Everything but country? I love punk and want to be in a punk band. The Gaslight Anthem, Rise Against, Sum 41, Story Of The Year, anything in that range. As far as individual bands: Jimmy Eat World, Anberlin, and Ludo are probably my favorites. Against Me! is also a standout, and excited to see where the band is heading now that the singer has made public she is transgender. Takes some serious guts to do that. Deftones are kings of the hard-rock roost at the moment.

Food: Thai/Indian/Japanese/Chinese... anything spicy, but especially partial to curry. Love some sushi, too. Basically I'll eat anything that's not bland old American :P
