I am loyal, hardworking, and kind of goofy.

My Self-Summary

I am separated and am in the first stages of working thru my divorce. It's a tough time for me, but I am doing OK. I am interested in finding someone who shares my interests and who can be my friend.

What I’m doing with my life

Kids - I have an 18-year-old daughter in college who is studying Musical Theater (she was the lead in the Musical for her last three years of high school and is awesome). I have two sons, a 17-year-old in high school (who doesn’t know what he wants to do), and a 11-year-old in Middle School.

I have recently taken up Skiing again and have taken my sons on day trips. I can’t wait for this season to start.

My hobbies include reading, playing games (cards & board games, I stink at word games and those stupid logic word games).

Work – I am a manager in the HealthCare claims processing field and have also worked as a manager in the Financial Services mutual fund/investing field.

I’m really good at

My job, fixing things around the house, painting, wallpapering, and anything that I set my mind to.

The first things people usually notice about me

People think that I am quiet at first. As Mark Twain said "It is better to remain silent and thought to be a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Interests
Reading – I like to read many different types of books, such as General Fiction, Nonfiction, Mysteries, Thrillers, Science (anything similar to Jared Diamond’s work), Economics (Predictably Irrational), History (Team of Rivals), Biographies (John Adams by McCullough), Science Fiction (my old favorite).

Musical Theater - Anything my daughter is in (Oklahoma as Lori, Jacob and the Technicolor Dream Coat as the narrator, Guys & Dolls as Sarah), Spamalot, The Drowsy Chaperone.

Movies – I like Dramas, Thrillers, Comedies, Romantic Comedies, and Science Fiction. I will watch Chick-Flicks with you, if you will watch some stupid movie I pick out.

TV – Lost, Flashforward, The Big Bang Theory, Dirty Jobs, The Deadliest Catch, Monty Python

Radio - I listen to NPR on WBUR and sometimes change a Rock station.

Music - I like classic and hard rock music and don’t mind most other music. Country, not so much. I have started to use iTunes a lot and find that shuffle is like having a radio station that only plays music that you like. I gota get me an iPhone when my cell phone contract is up.

The six things I could never do without

In no peculiar order, my children, a book to read if they weren't around, a tv to watch if I finished my book, a computer to play a game, the internet to surf, and a home to come back to. (oh, and spell check, I keep on finding errors and it bugs me)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What I heard on NPR, science, what I read, what's is happening in my life and the people in my life.

I have been thinking about what my next step and am kind of at a loss. I need to think harder.

On a typical Friday night I am

Sometimes I am at my apt bored out of my mind, sometimes not.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I am a bit of a loner.

You should message me if

If you like or hate anything I have written.
