My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
"There is no such thing on earth as an uninteresting subject; the only thing that can exist is an uninterested person."
– G.K. Chesterton

And I just never seem to be that uninterested person.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work at a tech startup in River North. When not doing this, I compose music that has been described as "Daft Punk hugging kittens." When not doing any of the above, I do street photography of beautifully-lit dumpsters and majestic parking lots.

I also volunteer, but pretty much only on things that have to do with food. I love food and don't want others to go without it.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
A variety of British accents. Identifying typefaces... especially if they're Helvetica.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm either being really quiet or I just won't shut up.

On the subject of talking too much...

Books: The Man Who Was Thursday, Proust was a Neuroscientist (I don't care if Lehrer has been discredited!), Confessions of an Economic Hitman.

Movies: The Visitor, Children of Men, Michael Clayton, Baraka, Babel, Blade Runner, Primer, District 9, The Incredibles, Mon Oncle.

Shows: Planetes, The Wire, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Naoki Urasawa's Monster (which no one has heard of and is truly amazing).

Music: Midlake, The Appleseed Cast, Other Lives, M83, Shearwater, Hammock, Mew, The Radio Dept, Phoenix, Goldfrapp, Max Richter, Hauschka, The New Pornographers, Ulrich Schnauss.

Food: Mussaman curry, chicken shahi korma, gulab jamun, eel sushi, naan with any Indian dish, Ethiopian bread, cornbread.

I don't drink a lot, but I do enjoy a good craft beer now and then. I don't really do mixed drinks unless it's a pisco sour.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Things to make music with
Goat cheese
Trader Joe's to get more goat cheese
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Correlation and causation.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At a gallery opening, at an experimental music performance, drinking responsibly with friends, or maybe just reading at home.

Ok, by reading, I mean watching Netflix by myself.

And by watching Netflix, I mean browsing the menu (you know how it goes).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
You and I both know that's what the questions tab is for.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You aren't afraid to, on occasion, step from the comfortable shelter of post-modern sarcasm to dance in the rain of sincerity. But you also go back in before you get soaked.
