I am odd, furry, and easily distraced.

My Self-Summary

The cute one in my pic is my son. He is very important to me so if you don't like kids, men with beards, tattoos, smokers (well I am trying to quit)... don't bother reading the rest.
I have gone through many phases in life. In my youth I was actually a choir boy. My singing abilities were pretty much destroyed soon after I graduated high school when I joined the Marine corps. I still often try and sing and it is tolerable but nothing to be impressed at. So if you are tone deaf that could be a plus. In the Marines I was able to experience many different cultures and realized that this country really is pampered but I love it anyway. Currently trying to write a novel.

What I’m doing with my life

This portion of the site is currently undergoing maintenance. Try again in a few hours.

I’m really good at

Puzzles, making a campfire, reading, calligraphy, making comments that either make someone laugh or irate because I choose not to use tact. I make a decent cup of tea.

The first things people usually notice about me

Beard, and you either like beards or do not. I am keeping this thing if I can so if you are anti-beard geared, sorry.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Adding Art in here. Now never was a huge fan of art until I went to the Art Institute in Chicago and saw Monet's Waterloo Bridge, Gray Weather. The piece stunned me. There are a lot of pieces I can't stand but that particular painting is astounding. Literally I sat there for a couple of hours staring at the thing, and then renamed my parrot (who sadly passed RIP Monet)

Chaucer, Poe, Stephen King, Jeff Noon (Vurt, pollen, automated alice, etc... Like going on an acid trip just by opening the book) Robert Jordan (currently rereading the wheel of time series for about the 105th time) and the Narnia series (a hold over from my youth I wont get rid of...parents threw out my blanky and teddy bear I'm keeping this as a favorite book). this list can be endless so I wont drone on, I have donated more books to library's than most bookstores keep in stock.
Zen and the art of Motorcycle Maintenance

anything sci fi or with lots of explosions.

Best war movies : Apocalypse Now
Sci Fi : Cube Series, BSG, Firefly, Buffy (so sue me ... I liked it)
Western : Unforgiven
Comedy : Old school Monty Python fan...I will sing the Bruce's song often, it is on a constant loop in my head
Horror : Arachnophobia (slasher films are okay...)

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart is THE ONLY PLACE FOR NEWS

Music..I'm picky I like bits from all genres but still very picky

Food...YES

The six things I could never do without

Count to three sir
1. Oreo's
2. Relaxation
4. My mental instabilities (they make it all fun and worthwhile)

no sir 3

3. My Camel Wides
5. Sushi: for some reason this is the only way I actually like the taste of fish
6. Humor

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I'm a guy so the obvious I'll leave out.

Why society keeps fragmenting into smaller and smaller groups making it harder to accomplish the changes all these groups want instead of banding together and actually getting the job done.

On a typical Friday night I am

Reading, sometimes I go out if I have someone to enjoy the time with. Honestly Thursdays and Sundays are the "out" days for me, the traditional concepts of weekends are outdated. Weekends should be extended to Thursday til Monday.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I like really tacky Hawaiian shirts. The more likely that the shirt can induce a seizure by its sheer gaudiness the better.

I like ties too, getting a tie for a gift actually makes me happy, as long as it isn't tacky. I hate tacky ties.

You should message me if

You live in Rockford.
Can admit to your own faults ... I wont demand you fix yours if you let me have mine. ( I can temper my more outrageous ones for courtesy )
Can speak in a full sentence without sounding like you belong in middle school.
Just want to talk (trust me I know not everyone who messages me wants to date and I do like good conversation)

If you have racist tendencies please Do not message me. My son is 1/2 Korean and even if he is not with me all the time...
