My Notes edit

My self-summary

I am just kind of an average guy who by circumstances beyond his control ended up back in Fort Wayne. I really enjoy going to restaurants, movies, theater, music and good conversation. The best part about being back here is that I have had time to get involved in one of my favorite hobbies -- participating in theater.

I prefer to hang out with guys in my own age range (25-45) who have half a brain and can carry on their half of a conversation. You don't have to be well-read or extremely witty, but a good sense of humor and a sense of wonder and interest in the world are big plusses. The kind of guy that when we go and see a movie, we can go afterward for coffee or a drink and talk about the movie -- what it made you think about, how successful it was at communicating its point, if the lead actor was cute, whatever. I prefer someone who reads. It doesn't have to be great literature (although that would be nice), could be the newspaper for all it matters. I hope to find someone who enjoys life and wants to make a difference somehow and who can laugh at himself (and occasionally others).

So if you are interested, drop me a line. My schedule is always demanding, but there's always room for more.

What I'm doing with my life

Well, right now I am focused on working a lot. I work for a non-profit that is involved in getting local business people involved in schools. I also work part-time at 3 different high schools as the assistant drama director doing primarily tech stuff. I want to free some time up to act and direct again and spend more time with friends or that special someone.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

I hope it is my eyes and my smile and the fact that I want to get to know them.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

BOOKS

I love fiction -- something that can grab my attention and shake my belief system to the core or catch me offguard and make Diet Coke shoot out my nose with laughter. I read a lot of plays because of my theatre background.

MUSIC

I have to admit my favorite music is 80's new wave/alternative, Europop. David Bowie is my favorite overall artist because he has tried just about everything. My tastes are wide and varied -- from classical to Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals to standards (Berlin, Kahn, Gershwins) to some just noisy punk stuff from the 70s.

FILM

I like a lot of independent and foreign stuff. But I also like a feel-good romantic comedy or classic musical. I would say I draw the line at most slasher-type horror (blood and guts for blood and guts sake) and gross-out comedy.

The six things I could never do without

1. Laughter 2. Good friends 3. Music 4. Books 5. Artistic Expression 6. Try as I might air, food, water, shelter have to fit in here somewhere.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

what I should be doing to improve things in the world. I mean I am as selfish as the next guy, but I want to leave things better than I found them.

On a typical Friday night I am

either at home or out on the town with friends -- if I don't have a show I am involved in atthe time. I can go either way.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I may not like what you have to say, but I will defend your right to say it.

You should message me if

you don't mind contradictions -- I am quirky conventionalist, a social introvert, a likeable a**hole, a misanthropic humanist.
