My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
What about me, what about me, lets see. I live in Flemington with my dog and a couple of housemates. I love my job but it's not my life. I write for an LA-based movie news website and am working towards starting my own youtube channel about video games and maybe movie reviews as well - but again, not my life. Life shouldn't just be one thing. Balance is the key.

So what else should I say? That I'm an honest guy? Is that rare enough to brag about these days? How about 'laid back and genuine' or worse, 'down to earth'. Ugh I may be all of those things, but I also like to think I have a personality as well. I have a wicked sense of humor and love to make people laugh and giggle loud and long myself.

Surprise, surprise, I like spending time with friends and family, travel, movies, music etc etc. (Seriously, does everyones self description on these sites look the same or is it me?)

I love a great meal - either out or cooking - with a bottle of red or two and some good tunes for accompaniment. When Im not hanging at my bar Im chilling somewhere planning the next chapter in my adventures.

I'm interested in trying to make the most out of this life I've been given and not just have a story like everyone elses. Im off the map compared to the mainstream - money and status anxiety are others priorities, not mine - but am really proud and comfortable with where and who I am.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
After fifteen years, I recently turned my back on the white collar world since as a sentient, feeling human being trying to fit into a corporate world that rewards narcissists and sociopaths (of which Im neither) I found myself rather stuck and unhappy. I'm now giddily happy working in a bar for the first time in my life with a bunch of dear friends. If youre looking for a ladder climber or someone to share your status anxiety, then move along, Id rather love what I do and who I do it with than get rich and miserable.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
avoiding questions like this.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well that's up to them isn't it? I dunno... my beard?

I get compared to The Dude a lot. In lifestyle as much as outlook and attitude.

Music: my taste can best be described as 'eclectic'. I adore Tom Waits, Gomez and The Beastie Boys, Laura Marling, Flo & The Mac, am having a 90's renaissance listening to Tool, Faith No More, N.W.A. & Jay-Z. I'm currently obsessed with The Rolling Stones Exile On Main st. I adore wicked reggae, dub, punk, soul, funk, rockabilly, movie scores, blues, folk, hell I even have a weakness for 60's loung music.

As I said, 'eclectic'.

As for movies, I'm a third generation movie buff raised in front of cinema and tv screens, so it's too hard to list everything here.

TV's become so good its hard to list everything as well. I don't watch as many show as I should, my list of awesome HBO and AMC stuff to catch up on is a mile long.

I dont watch 'TV' in its traditional form these days anyway, Youtubes my TV. I need my daily fix of news on TYT, catch AMC Movie Talk and keep up with gaming and general pop culture updates and podcasts.

Books, well here are a few fave authors; Gibson, Welsh, Tolkien, Herbert, McCullough (Masters of Rome specifically), Chabon, Ellroy, Scott Lynch, Robert E Howard and Phillip Pullman.

Books I've adored recently have been The Lost City Of Z, Devil In The White City and The Passage.

Its probably also worth mentioning Im a massive gamer and general pop culture geek. I've written game reviews for popculture webbsites and write on movies for one currently, so if that's a dealbreaker or not 'grown up' enough for you Im sure there's plenty of guys out there that want to watch reality tv or talk about cars or footy or whatever...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My niece, my nephew, my two dogs, my dear friends, great tunes.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working like a crazy person. A blur of beard and ponytail

Youre looking to meet someone and hang out with casually and see what happens. Im not looking for anyone to 'complete me' or the like and if thats what you need more power to you and good luck on your search. Im not closed off to the idea of a relationship mind, but Im wary of young ladies wanting to slot my face into the little Prince Charming cutout they already have at the ready. I'm not a D.I.Y. project, I like me. Im just up for getting to know new people.
