My self-summary
I'm a friendly, good-natured person looking to laugh as much as possible with the people I enjoy spending my time with. I consider myself lucky to be surrounded with friends who feel the same way, and look forward to finding someone special with the same disposition. I've been told I can get along with just about anyone, and my friends have referred to me before as "witty" although I think that may be a bit generous. Get to know me for a while and I come out of my shell a bit, then you can judge for yourself!

I'm also genuine - enough so that friends have found the need to tell me that it is my most apparent trait. I speak my mind and I'm not afraid to talk about the way I'm feeling.
What I’m doing with my life
Working in technology, hanging out with friends in the evenings and on the weekends. Board games, dungeons and dragons, PC games...sometimes I'll go out to pool halls or bowling alleys with people. Even more rarely I'll go out to community events like festivals and such - I'd like to go out to more things like this.
I’m really good at
Man, honest self-appraisal is tough. Not sure about this one!
The first things people usually notice about me
That's another tough one to really say for sure. I smile a lot and like to make eye contact, so maybe that would be something noticeable pretty early on. Also I blush like crazy when embarrassed...seriously, beet red face and ears.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I've always been a big fantasy reader, I've enjoyed Forgotten Realms books since high school, R.A. Salvatore being my favorite author whose books I own quite a library of at this point (probably going on 4 or 5 shelves). More recently I've been branching out a bit with World War Z and the Game of Thrones books once I saw the show (amazing show). I read and own the Harry Potter books, as well as some random non-Salvatore Forgotten Realms books by authors like Philip Athans and Ed Greenwood.

Movies: I like all kinds of movies, though I tend towards action and comedy. I'm also a huge fan of horror movies (zombie movies in particular), bad horror movies (bad zombie movies are a point multiplier), and sci-fi/bad sci-fi movies. Staying in and watching movies or going out to the movies is one of my favorite things to do, so if you're not a fan of going out to the movies we may find ourselves bored. Unless you're creative! I'm always up for trying new things, and I don't mind going outside (into the sun, /shudder) :D. Recently I really enjoyed Avengers, Harry Potter 7/8, and The Dark Knight Rises. I have no particular love for comics (I don't actively dislike them either) but I find the movies based on comics to be pretty great, usually. Realistically, I'll watch just about any movie, even if I'm pretty confident that it's going to be bad.

TV: For current shows I like Dexter, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, True Blood, Psych, Castle, and The Mentalist. Older shows I watched include Farscape, NCIS, Firefly, and Stargate SG-1.

Music: My tastes in music have evolved wildly over the years, in high school I used to be really into rap and hip hop, but nowadays those styles of music (along with country) are my least favorite. I went through a phase of being quite into the heaviest of metal, and still enjoy a bit occasionally. Most of the time I listen to alternative, and go through streaks of being really into dubstep, electronica, and most recently, club-style music.

Food: I love food - good food, bad food. If it's made in a 5 star restaurant I'll probably eat it, if it's served in a cardboard box (and tastes like the box it comes in) I'll still enjoy it! (Slight exaggeration, but I have a terrible love of junk food, particularly when accompanied by hanging out with friends on game nights)
The six things I could never do without
1. My friends!
2. My computer (I am an IT nerd, I cannot deny it)
3. The Internet! (see above)
4. Games! of the PC and tabletop variety (see both above)
5. Carbonated beverages :)
6. Delicious food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Hmm, I have a fairly active imagination (not to be confused with creativity, of which I have approximately zero) but now that I consider it I can't manage to pinpoint any particular thing that I spend a great deal of time thinking about. I do a lot of thinking though, so I guess I'll say I spend a lot of time thinking about "stuff".

I do spend a pretty large amount of time thinking about the kind of relationship I'm looking for - I'd definitely like to find true love, but I don't want to go into things with that kind of expectation. I'm perfectly happy casually dating and seeing where things go!
On a typical Friday night I am
In with friends! Playing board games, watching movies, and having a few drinks. My most recent Friday night hobbies include Buffalo Wild WIngs and games with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My best friend once told me that he isn't absolutely sure he likes someone until they meet me - if we don't get along; deals off, if we do get along; he's confident that they're probably a good person. It was one of the most meaningful compliments I've ever received.
You should message me if
If you feel that you're kind and easy to get along with, and maybe share some interests. Or you just want to get to know me better! Don't be shy, even if you have a question about my profile or just want to talk - go for it!
