My self-summary
Exuberant, social, active, and a master of animal fist bumps. I'm a product of the 90's and possess a pretty gnarly vocabulary of fun slang and goofy informal words mashed between a layer of formal intelligence. I'm one part designer, two parts artist, and three parts gaseous humor. A massive car nerd and basketball geek juxtaposed against an interest in science and nature. I spend my days improving talents while exploring new interests and seeking creative ways to stay busy. Yeti-centaur hunting, swimming, climbing, trampoline-dodgeball, golf, or sprinting through the neighborhood on my way home at night. No matter the circumstance, I'm always, always looking for a laugh and am down to try just about anything with you giraffes (long horses).

Currently, I live for design and being creative in interesting and practical ways. Visual rewards. Things of fiction. Telling a story. Breeding amusement. Strange thoughts and creation of wild theories. I am definitely a detail-oriented dork with a compulsion to go all out in everything that I do. At times my imagination gets the best of me (socially or in my hobbies) and I will run with it. I've a reputation to uphold here.
What I’m doing with my life
I just can't make a living doing ski ballet, so I have instead chosen to operate from a computer in one of those magical office environments where spiders, dogs, beer, and strange people come together as a team. On most days, I digitize 3d objects and pulverize things in Photoshop until awesomeness is achieved.

While this keeps me incredibly busy, I am flexible and enthusiastic about getting off the computer and use by body in creative ways. Concerts, climbing, moose-riding, golf, fun-ass fairs, drawing, and eating on a constant. Swimming and patios in the summer. Fire pits and video games in the winter. A vortex of pollen induced labor in the spring. Meeting new people to converse and break down with. Interesting activities shall always be tried once (maybe twice) and perhaps forever if it's really good.
I’m really good at
Creative analogies. Strange descriptions. Finding humor in the worst of situations. Familiar with most political, pop-culture, and internet references. A keen eye for aesthetics. I have a great eye for color and apply it liberally in my work and life. Rocked a mosaic once. 3d comes naturally of course: This, this, and this. My second love revolves around detailing cars. I'm good at it. Disturbingly so. That decrepit 80's-era Mercedes diesel will look like a total stud after I am through. I kind of want to do this for a living. I'm pumped that I have something to fall back on.

My ability to stay afloat in water for extended periods of time should not be balked at. As such, I can swan dive better than most swans. I was born aerodynamic, so I'm definitely good at go-karting and bike riding. This mostly due to the fact that I have a fully functional core with four working limbs attached, and a genuine interest in whatever I pursue.
The first things people usually notice about me
Visually, my lush hair, contrasting facial features, and pleasing fashion sense. I used to rock some total dad-core outfits. Shudder.

From the intel I've gathered otherwise, there is an expectation that I will at some point say something wild and amusing. Impeccable or atrocious timing and delivery. Funny nonetheless. Endearingly ostentatious but not overbearing. Loyal to a fault. I'm not too humble. I can be a bit of a loner, doing my own activities for my own pleasure (which probably means I'm binge gaming on Dark Souls 2). Let's call this being selfish. It's the only chance I get to wear my pink silk trousers without turning pink myself.

Other notable features:

Blue eyes: Check!
Palpable wit: Check!
Killer stubble: Double check!!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Food: Breakfast all the way. Southern, Indian, Mexican. Cheese plates, pot pies, thin crust pizza, and . Pistachios and cashews are the best nuts. Walnuts and apples make my throat itch. Cantaloupe is an absolute no-go. Energy drinks suck.

Music: Bluesy stuff, 80's cheese, electronic stuff, plain-old singing, questionable rap, brushes with pop, guitar solos. Recently, Tears for Fears, HAIM, Alice Smith, SRV, SAFIA, Justice, Jonny Lang, Tom Petty, Gary Clark Jr., Graveyard, Grace Potter, The National, Dire Straits, Biggie, Tech N9ne.

Internet: Reddit, This American Life, Vice, My Brother My Brother and Me, Perry Bible Fellowship. Animal videos. This currently resides in my internet history.

TV and Movies: Top Gear UK, Adventure Time, Breaking Bad, House of Cards, South Park. Looper, 28 Days Later, All is Lost, True Grit, The Devil Wears Prada (serious), They Live. Everything PIXAR and Miyazaki.

Books: I like my books how I like my movies. Dystopian, generally bleak, and empowering. The Road. The Lisbeth Salander series, Snuff, Survivor. I am Legend is one of my all-time favs. Tolstoy and Hitchens and Harris get a mention. I'm very bad about keeping a reading routine.
The six things I could never do without
Heated blankets, because duh.

Organic conversation, because it's dynamic, not forced.

Blazers basketball, because I needed a religion.

Intimacy, because my jimmies are rustled.

Cats, because not dogs. Shots fired.

Hot sauce. Lemme send a shout out to all my boys: Aardvark, Cholula, NW Elixirs, and Sriracha.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to improve. Where will I end up? Who will I know and who will I forget? Where do all of the spiders go when it snows? Is Nancy Grace a computer graphic character?

More pressingly, I often wonder when Portland will have that beast-mode earthquake, or if Mt. Hood will erupt this year, and whether I'll be sitting around in my underwear when either of these happen. Or worse, while in the shower.
On a typical Friday night I am
Seeking solitude or being social. One or the other. I might be out with friends at a Blazer game, dive bar, or foodie restaurant place. I don't always live a reality TV lifestyle on Friday night, but when I do, I prefer conversation and a whiskey sour over raucous party environments. Otherwise I'm at home on Reddit or Netflix while lounging and snacking.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a recurring spider dream that begins in a whirlwind of blankets and sheets and ends as I thrash about and crash into everything in the room. It is as thoroughly uncomfortable and disorienting as you could imagine. Horrifying really.

I've uh...seen all of American Idol. All of it. Shudder

Well! You made it this far. Go ahead and drop me a line if some aspect here resonated with you. Perhaps you share a few dorky tendencies and enjoy conversing back and forth about serious and silly and unsavory subjects. If you are down to casually meet, have some fun, and see what happens naturally, then by all means hit that dial. I tell a really mean horse joke! WE CAN TALK CATS.
