Not that I'm exclusively a geek - I've lived a very well rounded life. I've played hockey extensively and still root for the Lightning. Take me to an art museum, and I can tell you why I like Mucha and Van Gogh, but Jackson Pollock doesn't do anything for me. Take me to a film festival, and I can discuss with you how I enjoyed the use of lightning or absence of music in a poignant scene. Bring up philosophy, and I'll refer to The Republic. Talk classical music, and I'll say how I prefer Bach's compositions that weren't for a full orchestra more than his others - his cello solo's being my favorite. Mention jazz, and I'll bring up Stan Getz and Herbie Hancock. Or if you don't want to try so hard, I'm more than willing to put in my DVD of "French Kiss" with you and chuckle at Meg Ryan's exuberant eagerness. Or we can just hop in the car and drive around town while singing along to Queen on the radio.
I like to have fun, and I like to make people smile. I don't care if I make a joke at my own expense, it's always good to know you're the reason another person is smiling. Oh, and this may sound odd coming from a guy... but I actually enjoy cooking. I know, I'm an odd one.
I do have something to say about relationships. It's my experience that people change over time, but that doesn't mean that relationships spontaneously change with them. People have to work with one another to make sure they're both growing in the right direction. I'm looking for someone who's willing to put as much effort into that growth as I am.
