My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Relatively sane. Sometimes weird (but who isn't really?). Inconveniently indecisive. But definitely love pork, wine, and coffee. Sometimes my North Carolina shows, usually when I am drunk, and I am no stranger to drunkenness. I say dang, holy moly, and geez louise, seriously. Not that I avoid the hard stuff... But sometimes in the middle of a serious curse filled rant, I throw in a show stopping "DANG!" I find that more embarrassing than the profanity I sometimes spew. Cannot take a good picture to save my freaking life, but pretty cute, if I do say so myself...

Back in NYC after a lovely vacation to Charleston. Can I have a vacation once a month?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have a super intense job that I love. I love my job... a lot. I'm in the restaurant business and therefore have lots of opinions about dining and service, etc. My job is my life... You cannot be jealous.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Getting riled up about something that probably shouldn't rile anyone up... and then ranting about it. I love ranting... Also, crossword puzzles. bad trivia. sitting at bars. lists. making you laugh when you really don't want to. Giving opinions. And also listening without giving opinions. And laughing... Sometimes inappropriately. Actually often inappropriately...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Short hair. Big eyes. Arms akimbo.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

One Hundred Years of Solitude, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Master and Margarita, The His Dark Materials trilogy, The Secret History. I love reading Murakami until the end... Why are his endings so unsatisfying? I have been a terrible reader the last few years... I'm working on fixing that.

Annie Hall, When Harry Met Sally, Lost in Translation, Princess Bride (your's too, I know). I will watch Shawshank Redemption any time I see it from any point in the movie... Just saw Birdman, Michael Keaton was genius.

Game of Thrones, Orange is the New Black, The Wire, Six Feet Under, Community, Parks and Recreation, Seinfeld reruns, and though it hasn't been good in so long... Grey's Anatomy. I need that show to get cancelled so I can stop caring. I watch too much TV... Netflix and I have a very serious relationship.

I listen to podcasts more than music these days... WTF, Savage Love, This American Life, Serial (like everyone), just discovered 99% Invisible.

Trying to catch up... Jason Isbell has recently reminded me that I do love Southern singer/songwriters. Constant loves include Wilco, The Decemberists, Arcade Fire, The Beatles, Magnetic Fields, Rilo Kiley, The Flaming Lips, Bon Iver, Stephen Malkmus, Pavement, but always looking for something new. Might be able to admit that I am possibly starting to kind of understand the appeal of cheesy pop music.

Everything. I love food. But really I love the experience of dining out. My favorite moment of a meal (and it doesn't always happen) is when the food is put on the table and no one speaks for minutes because the world has ceased to exist outside of their mouths. I love and hate being in restaurants. I am trying to get better at enjoying dinners at home. But I really don't cook. Can, but don't.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My friends
A good bottle of wine
Passion/passionate people
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
my job. can I go one more week without a haircut or will I just look like a Beatle? Is this online dating thing worth it? Beach vacation? What is the next restaurant I need to go to? Pay for TV? Where will I get my next cup of coffee? When do I get to retire to New Orleans? Or Nashville? Or some other Southern city... Where should I visit next? my job. Beer or wine?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Taking it easy after a long week... Or blowing off steam after a long week. Or working. I really could be doing just about anything...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I had a tarot card reader in New Orleans call me a "sensual witch." He also told me he was trying to look up my skirt for the entire reading, so... There's that.
