I moved to Boston from Florida about a year ago and I think I'm finally starting to acclimate to New England weather. Personally I’ve always found warm weather and sunshine to be greatly overrated anyways. Really I love the fact that for a quarter of the year the sun sets at 4:30 and sometimes the rain comes down sideways...

When I’m not complaining about the weather I like to stay active both mentally and physically. I’m equally comfortable spending an afternoon kayaking on the Charles or snowboarding down a mountain as one spent exploring the MFA. I also love to travel and explore new places. I’m looking for someone with a sardonic sense of humor who is intelligent and adventurous.

I'm an engineer and was actually contributing to the space program before moving to Boston. I moved to Boston for career opportunities and am planning on starting graduate school part-time in the fall. I’m also glad to finally be at a point in my life where I have the means and opportunity to start traveling. I went backpacking through Europe last summer and am planning on that being the first of many adventures.

I enjoy learning new things and being challenged intellectually. I'm not super athletic although I manage to hold my own at most sports and I'm trying to develop some skills in the kitchen. While I'm not quite ready for an appearance on Iron Chef my previous roommate always finished off my leftovers, whether I wanted him to or not, which I interpreted as a sign I was headed in the right direction.

I get a lot of compliments about my eyes and my smile.

Catch-22 is probably my all-time favorite book. I also enjoy Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, most anything by Kurt Vonnegut, and that general style of fiction. I also have a pile of non-fiction that grows faster than I can read. I also like to keep up with current events and politics by reading blogs like Marginal Revolution and trying to keep current with way too many NPR podcasts.

As far as TV shows I'm very sad to see 30 Rock and How I Met Your Mother go off the air but am really excited to finally have Arrested Development back. I also have a soft spot for science fiction generally when it comes to books, TV, and movies.

I like a pretty wide range of music but lately I've been listening to a lot of Mumford and Sons, Of Monsters and Men, and the Postal Service. I am very happy to have escaped the country music that was everywhere in Florida. I’ve also enjoyed the culture available in Boston. I’ve been to a couple of theatrical performances and while I haven't been yet I'm looking forward to going to see the Pops in the near future.

All the places I want to visit and things I want to do. And what my neighbors are cooking that smells so delicious.

Possibly heading out of town on a weekend get away but if I stay in town I might be grabbing some drinks or possibly even spending a relaxing evening reading a book or watching a movie.

I'm normally fairly shy but once you get to know me you I'm a huge dork.

You appreciate sarcasm, like intellectual conversations, and don’t mind that after a couple beers I might develop a hint of a southern accent.
