My friends would say that I'm loyal, dedicated, and the sort of person who will drive a friend 45 minutes from Palo Alto to San Francisco (and back) just to avoid the possibility of a public transit snafu. Or how about the kind of guy who will stand behind a friend at a show so s/he won't get pushed out of the way.

At the same time, I'm an equal-opportunity shit-talker, which means I don't take myself too seriously, and neither should you. I can both hobnob with the fancy folk and get down and dirty in the pit.

Besides the usual day-to-day hunter-gatherisms, I basically take photographs of inanimate objects for a living. I do a fair amount of it in my free time as well, but I'm not a creep about it. I also like all of the other regular things people write about in these little boxes, like movies and food and doing stuff in various locales.

Photography, finding things people want to find, ducking out of dumb parties, talking to animals both wild and domestic, being quite tall.

If they're at a dumb party, they see me heading for the door and they're probably jealous. Most likely because I'm about to have more fun than they're having.

Books: Irish fiction and general non-fiction. I love Salman Rushdie's Haroun and the Sea of Stories. David Foster Wallace, Roddy Doyle, Glen Baxter, Dermot Bolger. Calvino, Hornby, Salzman, Wolff, now there's a party! Does Phantom Tollbooth count?

Movies: Blade Runner, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, The Lives of Others, Run Lola Run, The Seventh Seal, City of Lost Children, Fight Club, Night of the Hunter, War of the Worlds(1954), Cocteau's Beauty and the Beast, if Beastmaster is on, I have to watch it. I love the History Channel and any number of documentaries

Music: I've been listening to quite a bit of ambient, noisy stuff lately. Though I'd love to make an endless laundry list of my library but I'm passionate about half a dozen bands which shake me to the core. You might catch them at the Great American Music Hall, Bottom of the Hill and some of the smaller clubs.

Food: I'm a vegan but I don't care if you aren't. I like seitan and praise it, hummus, Indian, Thai

Only four things: Camera, Computer, Books, Live Music. Food and water are overrated. Oh yeah, air. Air is important
