My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
If I have "liked" you, send me a message. It's my way of saying that I think you're interesting and want to get to know you better.

I am intensely curious about people who describe their lives as "perfect" - that implies the need or want for nothing. I think that I would find that state of perfection utterly maddening. I will always strive, but never achieve perfection, because the joy is in the strife, I think. I don't want to meet perfect people, as I myself, am not.

Looking for:
More people in my life, for fun, for coffee, bourbon, or pretty much anything. People willing to send the first message. It just makes it so much more fun. People who aren't intentionally vague.

People who would consider themselves, "alternative." Where in the hell did all the alt minded people go? Did everyone join the church of the judgmental, "nothing is funny, and we should all be ashamed for something" people? Good god. Life is hilarious; let's be hilarious together.

Self summary:
I am the musician behind nolongerhuman. (
The music can be described as EBM/Goth Industrial, with maybe a touch of punk. It's a very small sub genre of music. Some like it; some hate it. Some dance to it. It makes me happy.

I work as a chef, and also a mixing and mastering engineer.
I will try anything once.

I just moved back to Portland after 4 years on the East Coast, though, I have lived all over the U.S.

I am tolerant of almost anything except animal abuse of any kind. It's one of the only things I can't even really joke about... Almost anything else is fair game.

I value aesthetics; and prefer what most refer to as "alternative" aesthetics: tattoos, piercings, and odd hairstyles.

Generally I don't like the normal version of anything.
I have an obsession with the post apocalyptic style.
Not political - Not religious. Open minded, but not open to conversion.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Learning. Always learning.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Switching from my normal persona, to a stage persona.
Being shy.
Cooking pretty much any meal you can think of.
Taking everyday or funny situations and spontaneously performing an improv monologue for whomever I'm around.
Reading people incredibly accurately, which makes for a fun party trick.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm told either my hair or lips, or my tendency to launch into serious conversation at a moments notice. I really don't care what kind of car you drive, nor the color of your cubicle walls, and I really doubt you care about the banal aspects of what type of microphone I like, or why mixing in dual mono has advantages over stereo.

If not that, my forearm tattoo.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Anything sociological, but particularly authors such as Rand, Orwell, Steinbeck, Dickens, Ellis, Dazai, Kafka, Palahniuk, are all favorites, specific books - some being the standard tropes: 1984, The Metamorphosis, No Longer Human, Keep The Aspidistra Flying, Animal Farm, The Belljar, Of Mice and Men, etc.

50's music, old blues music, and pretty much anything with heart and depth. Gary Numan is always amazing, older Wumpscut, the occasional Deathrock track, some goth, lot's of electro, aggrotech, some EDM, some vintage country... I mean... It's kind of all over the place. The only thing it's generally not, is top 40's and modern rap. I in particular dislike ska. I just do not... ska.

I prefer period movies, some Sci Fi, Dexter, Lie to Me, X-Files, House, Millenium, and the original black and white Twilight Zone.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why in the hell, the actual, literal hell... beards became a thing again. I have literally no idea why anyone finds them attractive.

Song lyrics, where my old friends ended up, new recipes, what the next random city I will end up playing a show in next will be.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Watching movies
Working on a remix or new song
At a random bar, doing random things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I looked in the mirror and didn't like what I saw so I changed it.

I pretty particularly dislike professional sports. If you can't drink while you play it, I'll likely not enjoy it. Not to say drinking makes a game; just that bowling, darts, Cards Against Humanity, and ping pong, appeal far more than watching sweaty guys chase balls in stretchy, shiny clothing.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You prefer intelligent conversations to smarmy self aggrandizing statements.

You're open to alternative lifestyles.

You are good at open ended statements. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to respond to someone who always uses closed ended sentences; I feel like I am trying to solve some inscrutable riddle.

You want to hang out, grab a cup of coffee and talk about anything and everything, want to go to a club, or just want to get to know each other and see where things go. :)
