My Notes edit

My self-summary

I like ice cream, I'm from New Orleans, I like to amuse myself on a regular basis - sometimes at the expense of others (but only people I'm close to - the irony), both my job and my personal life exist in predominately grey areas on an ethical level, I listen to people a lot (both at work and at home), I have a bar in my bathroom (please tip if you attend a function in there), I drive a go-cart to work sometimes...

What I'm doing with my life

I'm a social work intern at the VA (dept. of vets affairs) in VA (virginia). When I graduate, I'm either going to get offered a job here if a position opens up, or I'll go anywhere in the country that has my position open. That's actually a pretty exciting thought for me right now.

Aside from work, I make it a point to try new things (or just learn some new trick) when I have free time..... ahhh... free time....... anyway, I think this month I'm going to a YMCA class on knitting.... why not.... of course none of my guy friends know this, unless of course, they're looking right here at this profile. But then again, they have to confess that they were looking me up in order to publicly announce that I might be taking a knitting class. I think I'm covered here.

I'm really good at

Making completely inappropriate comments, embarrassing myself (those two can kinda go together), listening, and dressing myself in the morning.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

“Your biting wit, your undeniable charm, and your metro-sexual fashion sense.”
Quoted by Emily - as it would make no sense for me to answer that myself.... seriously.

EDITORS

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: anything written by Billy Collins. I like all of my "Norton Anthology of (whichever) litterature" books, the instruction manual for assembling my computer stand (in three languages no doubt - bonus!)...

Movies: Today I like Royal Tennenbaums, American Beauty, Army of Darkness, Clerks, the Princess Bride, and the Hustler.

Music: (Really now, I could spend a day. Lemme throw some obscure ones out there to try to impress you.)
Celtic Fiddle Festival, Ladysmith Black Mambazo (they were on Paul Simon's Graceland album), Paul Simon (and Garfunkel), Carla Bruni,
A bunch of people from my hometown: Morning Forty Federation, Rebirth Brass Band, Egg Yolk Jubilee, Bonerama. Etc.

FOOD: Ice cream, coffee, crab meat savanna, red beans and rice, crawfish etouffe', beef, anything with more than 5oz of garlic...
(Those are my favorites; though, I'll be honest - I'll pretty much eat anything that is served to me).

The six things I could never do without

Did I mention Ice Cream?, family - in spite of the fact that I know those people, alone time, direction (from within), water, and laughter.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

School; interpersonal relationships; beautiful women; how I got to where I am; and when and what I'm going to eat next.
- these are in no particular order of importance.

On a typical Friday night I am

... usually a burden on other people's really cool plans.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

Ok, so there was this question here on okcupid:

Imagine that while watching a squirrel run along a power line, you see it touch a second wire and explode. Which would be closest to your reaction?
- I would be sad. - I would be amused. - I would be angry with the power company.

Now, I didn't want to say that I was amused because I would be afraid of all the people who might get statistically repelled because of that. However, the instant I even read this question, one thought went through my mind: That's frickin' awesome! A squirrel exploding on a powerline! What a bogus question. How could anyone 'not' laugh at that. Yeah.

You should message me if

I'm online, you're online, you are pleasant and smell good, you're desperate, or you just want to play a cruel joke and you think I could take it without crying (a lot).
