I'm moving to Durham tomorrow night and the though of it makes me
squee with giddy delight, currently I'm in Greenville... woo... I'm
looking to make new friends in the area. I'm a geek, dealwifit. I play the guitar
kinda well. I spend a lot of my free time writing, and perverting
crafts to produce truly geeky things. For example my grandmother
has been teaching my cousins' children how to use Perler
Beads.(little melty doodads that you place on pegboards, and no
those aren't the ones that work like roofies, those were Aquabeads)
I learned that if you iron the heck out of them they melt into
little squares, so I started using them to create pixilated images.
(Little plastic game sprites) I enjoy a large variety of films, but
I am partial to foreign films. (mostly because I'm not fond of the
Hollywood happy ending)
Eventually I may start looking to date, but for the time being I'm
fine the way things are (much to the chagrine of a certain close
friend of mine. I know you see this man, dealwifit.) Not that there
seems to be much demand for my attention, so no worries.

My self-summary
What I'm doing with my life
I'm working my ass off recovering from my divorce (that should wrap
up in about 2 months), which brings up an important point; If you
aren't sure whether or not you believe in momogamy then don't seek
a long-lasting relationship with me. I'm not a complete prude but I
do eventually want to settle down with my white picket fence and
2.5. I find the idea of it rewarding.
I'm really good at
Playing guitar,
geeky crafts, rolling a d20, interjecting the right quote in the
right moment for maximum comical effect, using logic to chase away
Jahova's witnesses (not in a mean spirited way though, live and let
live, but I like to sleep in on the weekends) I can sing...
alright. I have near endless patience for anything short of a
malicious action. Apparently I'm really good at understanding
Shakespeare.(Currently watching Kenneth Braunaugh's rendition of
"Much
Ado About Nothing.")

That and I'm a pretty big guy. (6'2", with a 2 1/2' shoulder span)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books - The
Dark Tower Septillogy, The Hitchhikers Guide series, Odd
Thomas, Imagica, Anything written by Bruce Campbell or Stephen
Colbert. ....other than that it's a book by book decision.
Movies - If it has any twist or odd-ball quirk I will watch and probably enjoy it. I grew up on USA's Up All Night (Goofy 80's flicks and a crap load of Troma) I really enjoy foreign films (I am anxiously awaiting the 3rd in the Russian "Night Watch" series.) Japanese and French (Jean Pierre Junet, especially) films have made up about 40% of my viewing history.
Music - I really can't say what I like... It is pretty much a song to song thing.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
I daydream like crazy. This is where I get most of my story ideas.
I think about how to work snippits of conversation into storys so
that they don't feel forced. (My friends and I have been known to
be quite inventive with the english language)
On a typical Friday night I am
Watching a movie with friends, or catching up on work I've put off.
If someone is going Karaokeing I will drop just about anything to
tag along.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here
Angry people make me giggle. I'm addicted to parenthetical
statements. (I gets the jitters if I don't use them ;p) I
dislike having my picture taken, alot. (Mostly because cameras seem
to go off at the worst possible time, and I end up looking
ridiculous) I just took up crochet.
