I've finally decided to really figure out this big ol' city and get under its skin. Despite living only 30 miles from Dallas all my life, it's a place I've never really been able to explore. I know all the back roads of my hometown and east Texas like the back of my hand, but now that I've gradually moved closer and closer to the Big D, it's time to start looking down the side streets for the side of Dallas I've only ever heard about.

Personally, I'm pretty serious about my politics, but not above making a lolcat with terrible (wonderful) Lenin puns. One of the best things to see were during the Chicago Teacher's Union strike were the "Rahm Emmanuel likes Nickelback" posters.

Seriously guys. Seriously.

I'm on the quiet side and my humor is dry. I prefer people-watching and small groups of friends over huge parties and clubs.

I'll love cartoons till the day I die. It has come to my attention that loving cartoons in my mid-20s is childish. Hear that? That's just me turning up Adventure Time and drowning out the haters.

I'm back in school! The recession forced me to more or less stall my education for a couple of years but I'm happy to be back in the game! I am studying Emerging Media and Communications at the University of Texas at Dallas. If it's of any interest, I tend focus on political speech (particularly leftist speech) and movements through new media?

If I'm not working on school, I'm looking for good music shows, watching my goddamn cartoons, reading no less than about 4 books at any given time, working with various community organizations to make Dallas a less-terrible place to work.

Is it depressing and sci-fi oriented? Oh man, get me 5 copies and a bottle of whiskey. I'm a huge fan of Cormac McCarthy, if that's any indication of my literary tastes. Octavia Butler, Kim Stanley Robinson, William Gibson and Phillip K Dick are a few of my staples. I also read Studs Terkel, Engels, Rosa Luxemburg, etc.

Love the Walking Dead, Community, Justified, Rescue Me, and Peep Show.

I'll straight up admit I have terrible taste in movies. For movies, anything that has the Studio Ghibli seal on it is in my favorites list. If a movie has Simon Pegg, I'm totally there. Other favorites: Fifth Element, Iron Giant, Gattaca, La Jetee, and uhhhhhhh. Other movies?

Food wise, I love pretty much everything except sea food and mushrooms. I love pizza, though! I make a mean pizza. My passion for tacos is sort of like the speed of light: you can come close to loving tacos as much as I do, but you cannot meet or exceed it.
