My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Highly creative and motivated artist, likes building things, laughing, talking, writing and messing about. Original and independent thinker, has his own style and ideas about things, and rather more offbeat than your average bloke. Easy going and reliable, honest and candid, willing to talk about anything.

Likes cycling to jumbles and car boot sales, and drinking the occasional pint in an old style pub - quite partial to a pub quiz too. Regularly goes to the cinema and gigs, and occasionally performs his own electronic music with instruments he has designed and built himself. His short experimental films have been screened internationally, and he has carved a small niche in the short film world.

Definitely appreciates a bright girl with a smiley face.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I run an analogue sound workshop from my flat from time to time, and a while back I completed my first full length documentary film about early electronic music, which screened in various places around Britain. I'm building sound machines and making music, films, animations and collages, and generally enjoying a creative life.
I've been writing a book this past year - its an A-Z compendium all about electronic music, and its nearly finished, and will be published in the autumn.
Also spending too much time messing about with daft dating sites hoping to find a lovely lass - funny, intelligent, a little alternative in outlook, easy going, likes being serious, silly and saucy - sort of similar to me really.
Oh, and I do my best to avoid viewing any sports on tv or anywhere else; watching sport is bad enough, but talking about it is even worse!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Erm, tricky one that, I don't want to blow my own trumpet too much, but I'd say I'm quite good at making things or adapting old or broken things into something new. I think I've made some neat little animations and some pretty interesting music over the years, but then I'm a bit biased!
I build my own instruments to make electronic music, and I must say I think they're rather fine. Sometimes I exhibit them in galleries and you can play on them if you like.
I'm very interested in words and so like a crossword challenge (not great at cryptic, though gradually getting better).
I'm pretty reasonable at organising and sorting through stuff and picking out what's interesting. I've done a fair bit of film programming in the last few years, and also been on several film festival juries to decide the competition winners.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Ooh, um, probably my face, specs and clothes I would imagine.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Rather than try and pick favourite movies, or indeed favourite anything, which I think is a pointless task, its better if I just list the genres that are interesting: short films, independent cinema, documentaries, drama, comedy, experimental animation, science fiction etc, etc.
Rock, pop, electronic music, contemporary classical and minimalism, film soundtracks, soul, funk and jazz. Usually read the Wire to pick up on what's going on, and like to go to gigs when I can.
Food? Yes well, everyone likes that and I must admit I'm no exception.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A facile question, but just to play along, and tell you a few things that I would seriously miss if they were taken away: I'd say music, laughing, cups of tea and cycling. I should mention snogging and sex too, as life is very dull without them!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Music, film, women, bosoms, art projects, words, ideas, the frustrating nature of this dating game.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Staying in or going out; it depends on whether there's a gig on or something I feel like doing at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't like Withnail and I.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you feel like it and like the look of me; it would definitely be nice to get one back if I've sent you a message. I'm always up for meeting - a cup of tea in a cafe or a pint in a quiet old pub would be fine.
It would be smashing to get some dialogue going to begin, though I'd rather have a date and chat in person. Nevertheless, I'm a conscientious emailer and strive to be an entertaining writer.
Needless to say I'm not keen on 'lols' or txt spk wot isnt gr8.
