My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My name is Sam. I'm short, I'm a dork, and I'm awesome :P

I have a hopeless case of wanderlust. I sometimes like to go on Expedia or Travelocity just for planning an imaginary vacation. I love looking at the wikitravel site.

I'm looking for somebody who'll daydream with me.
I'm looking for somebody who'll go up to Mirror Lake with me on the weekend and hang out until the stars come out.
I'm looking for somebody who'll take a nice, quiet pub over a loud sports bar (my voice doesn't travel well in those).
I'm looking for somebody who'll nerd out on what they find fascinating about the world.
I'm looking for somebody who's curious.
I'm looking for somebody who'll enjoy the outdoors with me when its fall or winter.

I love learning. No, really, I do - I actually get an emotional high from doing research,... it's very weird. I'd love to learn from you. If you have a skill or area of knowledge that you really love, I hope you'll teach me about it.

I am a classically trained singer, a bass-baritone.

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I lived in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, in China for two years. I'm glad to be back in Madison. I'm student teaching in pursuit of my M.Ed. The plan is to continue onward toward my doctorate incorporating my background in education and international relations. My problem is that I find the world so fascinating, and I've gained a lot of confidence in my ability to learn, so I'm always musing on new academic and careers I could pursue. Teaching, however, is such a joy for me. It's the greatest form of performing.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I used to be good at Sudoku, but I'm pretty rusty
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My deep voice and my eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: Redwall series, Hitchhiker's Guide series, George Carlin's compilations, biographies, histories, anything to do with the commercial aviation industry, books about geography or international relations. I read a lot, though I don't usually read fiction.

Movies: if you can convince me to watch it, I'll watch it. That's usually not a hard task to accomplish. I have no idea what my "favorites" are. I go through periods where I have a particular favorite, then it's eventually replaced by another.

Music: I'm happy to show you my iTunes list if you ask.
I love Dusty Springfield, Warren Zevon, Elton John, renaissance and baroque vocal music, Russian/slavonic sacred choral music, Fijian reggae, central African pop music, Chinese Erhu music, traditional U.S. music played with a dulcimer, banjo music,...I love music!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Cheeseless pizza
My ability to see
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
funny things, airplanes, international relations, places I wanna travel, flying, the next music performance I'll have to give, the future, past experiences I remember fondly, restaurants I want to try, what I'm going to create next from my imagination.

Whether frogs have a religion and what kind of religion it might be...

most of all: random stuff
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
My favorite thing to do on a Friday night is to go with a couple of friends and just find random stuff to do. I'm generally not into the loud bar scene. I nice pub or a jazz bar or just a restaurant is wonderful. I also love to just sit outside on a clear night looking at the stars.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
If we're out and about and an airplane happens to fly overhead, I have no problem pausing the conversation to watch it until it's out of sight.
I have an incredibly vivid imagination, for which I am most thankful.
I like frogs.
