Ok, so I have a lame screen name, but I keep it because it’s
descriptive of me. I really enjoy spending time with people who
aren’t anxiety ridden. My friend MindMender81 convinced me to join
this site because there are a very limited number of venues where I
can meet the kind of people I would like to spend more time with,
and with graduate school I don’t have a lot of time to go out and
meet new people.
I’m the kind of person who doesn’t have TV because I’d rather be
spending time with my friends playing board games (Killer Bunnies and Last
Night On Earth are our favorites), skin diving, or hiking. I would rather be on the
sidewalk than the couch, on the grass than the sidewalk, and I’d
rather walk on the beach than the grass. I’m pretty athletic and I love to do
anything by the ocean, but I identify more with academians
than with jocks or surfers. I’m originally from Northern California
where my family owns a dairy. Things that make me happy include my
family, my awesome friends, being outdoors, the idea of a monkey driving
a go-cart, crusty bread, and my yellow toothbrush.

My self-summary
What I'm doing with my life
I bet a lot of people read this question and spiral into a deep
depression when they realize they don't have an answer. Anyhow, I'm
a student well on my way to fufilling my goals. Getting a doctorate is only a means
to an end. Really, I find my motivation merely in the idea that I
am creating a world for myself where I and the people around me can
be happy.
I'm really good at
Well, I taught a cooking class for a few months, I coach
a girls gymnastics team, I'm really good at
giving and receiving massages, I taught a giraffe how to kiss, and
I can play the radio really well. I've been told I'm pretty good
listener or something. and I'm pretty in tune with my emotions and
the emotions of the people around me.

How to protect myself from the manotony of gradschool. Sounds
silly, but I'm terrified that by the time I get my doctorate I'm
going to become a stereotypically boring professional who can't
break loose for a good time. I've seen it happen.
I also think a lot about how to make my life more exciting. I think my mother often wishes I didn't think so much about that, but she's 300 miles away and can't do much about it.

Out with my friends. It doesn't matter what we do since its going
to be a barrel of monkeys just hanging out with us anyway. I try to
do something different every week, but my favorites include
scuba-diving at night, going to Vegas, bonfire on the beach,
camping, and the
like.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here
I shaved my legs once to go as Michael Phelps for Halloween . . .
ok, it was this Halloween. And all of a sudden I have a whole lot
more tolerance for women who show up late to things. That took me
forever!

for email. Phone on the other hand I'm a little more particular
about. I had a friend who got a dirty phone call once and he caught
a bad case of hearing aids.
