My self-summary
Random facts about muoi:
I like lists.
I love the outdoors as much as I love the city and culture.
I am more of an early bird than a night owl.
I come from a family of scientists/mathematicians, and consequently am analytical in nature...The most artistic I get is when I cook (which I love to do).
I like people with opinions, wit, and a bit of an edge, but don't need to prove it.
I am a free spirit.
I am 10% detached, but also remarkably with it and organized.
I like to bike and ski, but dislike all sports that rely on eye-hand coordination or cold water.
I enjoy spending time with my (amazing, gorgeous, slightly nutty) family, although I don't see them much because they are all on the east coast (I am from NJ).
I buy amazing gifts for my nieces.
I am Italian (my better 1/2 anyway), so: I love Italian food, I talk with my hands, I tan well, and I have a fire-y side.
I am an ISTJ according to Meyers Briggs: Introverted, Sensing, Thinking, and Judging...I like to plan ahead, I like to define desired end points (goals) with clear metrics, I value loyalty, and I have a fantastic memory when it comes to irrelevant minutiae.
What I’m doing with my life
Spending lots of time getting paid to think about oil and gas, solar, and wind, how much energy we (Californians, Americans, and humans) use, where it comes from, how much it costs, and how it is transported.

When I am not working, I am biking (mtn or road), running, yoga-ing, cooking, working on the Sunday NYT crossword, studying Italian, reading on my back deck, or off hanging out with friends.
I’m really good at
Words with Friends
Endurance
Adminis trivia
Being organized, and organizing friends
Choosing great restaurants
Rationalizing
Parallel parking
Throwing dinner parties
The first things people usually notice about me
My boots. I love shoes, particularly boots. They are all amazing - mine in particular.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - within the past few months, Casual Vacancy, Atlas Shrugged, Game of Thrones.

Movies - romantic comedies, 80s classics, Woody Allen movies (primarily his later stuff), Judd Apatow movies, and the Planet Earth series.

Shows - Arrested Development, Mad Men, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Modern Family, 30 Rock, Daily Show, Girls.

Music - classical and rock...Adele, Ray LaMontagne, Andrew Bird, Avett Brothers, XX, Tribe Called Quest, Black Keys, Bon Iver, Springsteen, and Bob Dylan. Favorite podcasts include Science Friday, This American Life, The Moth, KQED Forum, and Radiolab.

Food - most real food, but particularly California and Italian cuisine. I keep close tabs on Michael Bauer's Top 100 Bay Area Restaurants - my favorites of late are Flour and Water, Cotogna, La Ciccia, and Perbacco. I love croque monsieur, Tartine bread (buttered), most (ok all) pork products, potstickers, Blue Bottle and Philz coffee (ether), broccoli raab, roasted brussel sprouts, fresh tomatoes (in the summer), cave-aged gruyere, taylor ham and egg and cheese, Semifreddi's cinnamon challah, homemade gnocchi, and wine. Don't be fooled by my waifish features - I can eat, a lot, I just have a high metabolism. Though I eat most things, I recently went to my friend's insect-eating party, and that was kind of pushing my limits.
The six things I could never do without
(1) Electric hot water heater (in order to quickly make and consume large quantities of tea).
(2) Q-tips.
(3) My shoes.
(4) A full glass of water next to my bed.
(5) Extra virgin olive oil.
(6) Caffeine. Preferably good (dark, "black as midnight on a moonless night") coffee, or japanese sencha green tea that is shipped to me from my friend in Japan (slightly high maintenance, but so worth it).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Keeping cool, and staying warm. Whether to sleep in or exercise or work from home tomorrow. When the sun will explode. Whether my past decisions were good or bad ones. How psyched i'll be when I can deactivate this online profile (NOT to knock OKC, it is a very helpful tool...).
On a typical Friday night I am
Going out to eat with friends, or cooking dinner for friends (my dining room table comfortably sits 10, so that is my most common dinner party size), or recovering from the week with book and wine.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I sometimes brush my teeth in the shower.
