I am not, left h, and ed.
My Self-Summary
I was born in southern California at a very young age and was
raised in another part of southern California. I am the fifth of
seven children (my mom is Catholic and my dad was a Marine which,
as you may suspect, is a recipe for lots of babies). My family was
pathologically competitive during my formative years but I have
learned to control my competitiveness by incorporating other
pathologies into my life.
So what else can I tell you about myself? How about the basics... I
am a SWM, 5'9"/170 lbs. and in decent shape. I am kind, honest,
smart, ambitious, overly educated and reasonably successful with no
real baggage to speak of. I have never done prison time so far as
you know and my only serious addiction is to chocolate.
In short, I'm a very good guy who is trying hard to be a very great
guy. I am looking for someone that I can respect and admire and
then see where it takes us.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now I'm working for one of the major movie studios on the
corporate side while pursuing my MBA in the evenings. It turns out
that corporate executives have lots of number-related questions
that they really want answered. So they pay me to come up with
reasonable guesses for them. It's not as bad as it sounds as it's
mostly legal and it keeps my creditors at bay.
When I am asleep, I enjoy dreaming. When I am not asleep, I enjoy
everything from movies, museums, and music to travel, running, and
(recently) indoor-skydiving.
I’m really good at
In school, I mostly studied math and law (I'm a terrible student
but they never seemed to figure that out). I grew up sketching,
playing chess, basketball, and martial arts. I'm also good at
quoting movies and songs.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm a genuinely friendly, happy, well-adjusted person.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Le Morte d'Arthur, The Critique
of Pure Reason, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Brothers
Karamazov, The Screwtape Letters, Catch 22
Movies: Rocky, The Great Race, The Quiet Man, Casablanca, Star
Wars, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Right Stuff, Ben Hur, The
Matrix, 2001: A Space Odyssey
Music: pretty much everything other than Jazz.
Food: Chocolate, of course. After that, I can't decide between
Sushi, Mexican and Italian.
The six things I could never do without
Never is a long-term concept. Aside from the basic necessities, I
couldn't do without my friends and family (well, six of them at
least).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Just about everything. From politics, philosophy and religion to
science, sports, and current events and anything I forgot in
between.
On a typical Friday night I am
...wishing that I had someone with which to do that thing that you
would love to be doing if only you had someone else to do it with.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I typed this in my bathrobe.
You should message me if
You are the total package (smart, nice, cute, single), live in
southern California, are younger than me, and aspire to living in a
bigger world.
