My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Making the space to love deeply, live boldly, be authentic, and play big games.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
general geekery, contemplating, analyzing, making tasty meals, climbing fake rock walls (ideally climbing real rock walls), creating solutions to weird problems, creating weird problems from solutions, college (I was really good at it anyways), driving, finding patience, finding common ground, patiently finding things on the ground...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am a male Caucasian member of the homo sapiens species, healthy, and at reproductive maturity. Also people might note that I wear clothing to retain body heat.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Admittedly, I'm not as avid a reader as I once was, but I really enjoyed reading: Henry Miller, Hunter S. Thompson, J.R.R. Tolkein, Dirty Ole Man Bukowski, and Kurt Vonnegut.

Some of my favorite movies, directors, actors, or cinematic related preferences include: any nature movie narrated by David Attenborough, Werner Herzog documentaries, most Wes Andersen films (Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic, etc.), classic zombie flicks (Dead Alive, _____ of the Dead, iZOMBIE, the Evil Dead series), foreign films (Amelie, The Brothers Quay, The Host, most anything Akira Kurosawa but especially Dreams, 8 1/2 by Federico Fellini, Brazil, most things Monty Python but especially The Life of Brian), and so forth and so on. There are way too many to list here.

Assuming "shows" means TV (which I don't care to pay for because it's generally awful): Firefly, Doctor Who (Old & New), Star Trek, The Mighty Boosh, Arrested Development, Eureka, Breaking Bad, The Kids in the Hall, Simpsons, Futurama, Weeds, The Guild, Sliders, That Mitchell & Webb Look, The Chapelle Show, Conan O'Brien.. etc. etc...

Music: I friggin love music; it's gotten me through difficult times in life, made the bright moments brighter, given grace and flow to my studies, helped me develop direction from rage, and on and on. I'll never be able to list everything here. Classical/Composer: Bach, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Vivaldi, Saint-Saens, Paganini, Philip Glass, Mozart, Satie... Blues: Muddy Waters, BB King, Miles Davis, Most Delta-Blues, Stevie Ray Vaughan... Electronic: Shpongle, Younger Brother, Deadmau5, Aphex Twin, Bonobo, Miike Snow, Calvin Harris, Infected Mushroom, Asian Dub Foundation, Underworld... Hip Hop: Jurrasic 5, Arrested Development, Mos Def, Del tha Funky Homosapien (especially Deltron 3030), A Tribe Called Quest... Classic Rock: The Doors, The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Allman Brothers Band, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin, War, Jethro Tull... Folk/Country: John Prine, Tom Waits, Joni Mitchell, John Denver, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Simon & Garfunkel, Van Morrison... Industrial/Rock/Goth: Nine Inch Nails, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, Joy Division, Radiohead, Bjork, Einsturzende Naubauten, Rammstein, KMFDM, Die Antwoord, Tool, Puscifer, Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, Skinny Puppy, ohGr... Punk: Bad Religion, Dead Kennedys, Fugazi, Rancid, Sex Pistols, Ramones, The Clash, Gogol Bordello... Indie: Ratatat, Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie, the Smiths, Elliott Smith, Bloc Party, The Shins, Sufjan Stevens, Beirut, Bon Iver, Tegan and Sara, Pixies, MGMT, Gotye, Feist, Iron & Wine, Calexico, Beck, Explosions in the Sky, Pinback...

Food: I like to cook from time to time - especially for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I like all kinds of food: Thai, Southern BBQ, Chinese (Szechuan, Hunan, probably others), Sushi & Sashimi, Korean, Ethiopian, Indian, Mexican, Jamaican, Greek, Italian, German, Saudi Arabian.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus. Also, I'd like to give a shout out to the space-time continuum (you know I'm talkin' bout you time, light, and space!), complex biological systems, and sentience. While I can exist without them, spirit, love, touch, adventure, music, wonder, laughter, and happiness get honorable mention for being amazing, and are amazing for my being. From the dictionary full of things I've found tend to be vehicles for wonderful experiences, allow me to introduce you to some of the transcendental things (in no particular order) that start with "C": cuddling, conversation, coitus, coffee, company, camping, climbing, contemplation, cooperation, charity, chance, challenge, and contempt for contrived containment of communication (such as 'six things'...).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
the next step, what matters most, and if I'm combining the two. And 42.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
considering what is best done on a typical Friday night. Hopefully there is no such thing as a typical Friday night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I played the violin for 8 years and hated the instrument but loved playing classical music in a chamber ensemble.
