Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm the very definition of a psychonaut. I enjoy contemplating
nature, consciousness and science, but to me the most fascinating
question in the universe is that of the human condition. I'm often
caught up with pondering this intrinsically purposeless existence
and looking for meaning wherever it can be found. I like to keep my
options open and my judgment as impartial as I can. I find that the
universe is just rippling with opportunities - Meeting new friends,
exploring uncharted waters of cause and effect, and finding
something that complements and fulfills the deepest parts of my
being. I'm rather nerdy, but I try to conduct myself with a hint of
classiness and refinement without being too self-important. I'm an
explorer - eager to sample new lifestyles, music, and cuisine and
seeking to challenge my prejudices whenever I can. Being a healer
is my calling, and use my education as a biochemist to design
natural treatments for advanced-stage cancers. Simple happiness is
my ultimate aspiration and For my sake, I hope these escapades will
include lots of swimming in the ocean, playing guitar, birthing new
poems, and eating gyros.
Actually, instead of writing this, I should have included select
clips of Leonard from The Big Bang Theory. It's a far more accurate
depiction of me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently, I support myself through being a tutor for pre-med
students at NEIU, as well as with sporadic work as an independent
consultant for Biotech firms. I dedicate a great deal of my time to
research in experimental naturopathic oncology and have designed a
regimen capable of producing a more than 30% reduction in tumor
mass in one small cell lung cancer patient through targeting cell
pH, potassium levels, and mitochondrial apoptogens. Neuroscience is
an equally important field for me, and I plan on attending Emory's
graduate program in a few years, once I've saved up enough and
expanded my credentials. In the near future, I hope to be moving
out to Minneapolis with my BFF and working as a researcher at U of
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I've got sharp critical thinking skills and an eye for detail, so
"Science" would be a pretty good summary. Possibly related to my
discerning eye, I'm talented at picking out matching ensembles from
a given wardrobe and generally being a frou-frou aesthetician.
Poetry is favorite hobby of mine and I've had several of my works
featured in Cornell College's annual publication for student prose
Open Field. I do confess, I go through periods of being an
avid gamer and I excel (read: pwn) at first person shooters.
Strangely, I was born with the ability to hold my breath for five
minutes so I'm a natural swimmer (confirmed) and gifted pearl diver
(theoretically). I have a knack for swordplay and favor the Chinese
Jian, an elegant weapon from a more civilized age.
The first things people usually notice about me

I can come across as strange and extravagant or shy and outspoken
depending on the day (I think it has something to do with gluten
intolerance). Often I'm keen to employ a verbose lexicon and
embellished dialogue because I'm in love with the English language
and it keeps my verbal intelligence in good shape. I steer
conversations toward politics, psychology and philosophy when I get
tired of vacuous small-talk (quite often) and I can get pretty
intensely involved in conversation and debate. In groups, I focus
on single individuals and toggle between giving each of them my
full attention, as people are much too fascinating to only
partially engage. My mannerisms are also somewhat flamboyant and I
can be very expressive. On that note, I'm very fun when drunk.

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Often, I'm busy dissecting my own thoughts and desires, trying to
find out what makes me tick. Every once and a while, a few dozen
puppies bound across my psyche with promises of wet kisses and
unconditional love. I'm always thinking about ways to improve
myself, new topics to study, and how I can find my niche in the

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm an open book. Shame is something that too often obstructs
personal happiness. Ok, here it goes:
Up until my freshman year of college, I hated being male and was
seriously considering gender re-assignment.
