My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I suppose I should update this once in a while...

I am one of those odd individuals, unfortunately I am not wealthy enough to qualify as eccentric, though I have not yet found a specific dollar amount that is the demarcation line, so I may well be.

I am one who is equally split between being an outdoorsy type, spending time out in nature and the wilderness, but also am comfortable in city/urban areas exploring those places as well.
Some days/nights I enjoy a quiet evening indoors enjoying other pursuits, either totally geeking out on the computer, enjoying movies, working on my art, some crazy project, or sitting taking notes from a pile of books. (I really dig history - see below).

I enjoy both history and current events, especially discussion thereof. I love food and cooking, and consider myself a bit of an epicurean.

Ok, I am fond of adult beverages, though I am not one to drink to excess by any means. I really enjoy sampling all the different styles of beer, ale, mead, and spirits, "such wondrous variety!"

Oh if I did not mention I am a geek, I like science fiction and fantasy, either in books, TV or movies. I enjoy electronic games, especially FPS style games or the like. I also enjoy "old-fashion" RPG games with friends.

I am a bit old fashioned, I open doors for people, take off my hat indoors, and display general courtesy. I have even had some people become "offended" by these behaviors, which astounds me. To me it is right and proper, and is a sign of respect and consideration of a person, not a dismissal that they are incapable or lesser in any way.

I am always looking for some new friends to socialize with; I enjoy meeting new and interesting people and sharing time with them. I am also always on the lookout for fun drinking partners who are up for going out and hitting a place with a decent selection and trying new drinks as well as old favorites.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have an interesting job, sometimes it takes me away to interesting events on weekends... Of course you are all familiar with the Ancient Chinese Curse "May you live in Interesting Times"

Other than that I get tied up with working on my hobbies and activities.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cooking - Specifically Meats, soups, stews, and breads. (Hey baking is like roasting!)

Creative Construction - Give me odd bits of metal and lumber and I can make most anything.

Making people laugh, sometimes it is not even at my own expense, imagine that.

Holding educated conversations about history, science, theology ad other assorted trivia.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Typically my goatee is the first thing noticed, a close second would be my eyes, they are an unusual color.

Most people get the impression I am very stoic, I am a bit reserved, but most of the time it is saving up for a good one-liner.

Oh, and I have been told I look good in tights.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My watch (I just feel naked without one)
2. My cellphone
3. Coca-Cola
4. My computer and internet.
5. My car
6. This is a state secret.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.

Oh and at least 10 minutes a day, absolutely nothing... I make a point of it. I guess it is a form of meditation, I am not sure if it is but it works.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You like history, going to events, getting together to cook or drink (or both!), you have a dark or sarcastic streak, a sense of humor, a keen wit, your seeking a guy who can be equally a gentleman and a scoundrel. In short I'm looking for a fun-loving, unabashed/unapologetic woman who is sure of herself as a friend and possibly more.
