My self-summary
Me: writer, runner, explorer. I don't do any of these as much as I'd like but I'm starting to get close on the running thing. The exploration I like (or would like) is of the urban and deep woods variety. I grew up in Maine so the deeper the woods the better. As far as writing goes I take it as seriously as I don't take it seriously. Not as contradictory as it might sound.

You: you're comfortable referring to things as "not my first rodeo." Maybe you're from the South, maybe you're a die hard Red Sox fan. You've definitely got a little bit of the nerd thing going on in some capacity. And of course you're awesome looking for someone who's also awesome to be awesome together. No lame-o's please.

I think my username is adequately punny. My second choice was AutoCorrectocrat.
What I’m doing with my life
Building it. The foundation took a second to construct but now that's in place and I'm moving forward. Art and writing are obviously a big part of who I am and I don't anticipate deviating from that course. The specifics are changeable; if you're too rigid in your path you might pass over an amazing opportunity simply because it wasn't part of the plan.
I’m really good at
Talking poetics, discussing "art" (pronounced "ahht") and sussing out new spots around town for dinner/drinks.

I play this card game called euchre and my friends say I'm pretty good at it. My brother may disagree, depends on the round.

I was classically trained on the piano, flute, and voice, so I'm basically Dick Van Dyke in Marry Poppins, except without the chimney sweep.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told I have a great smile. But people usually hear me before they see me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read a lot, indiscriminately and voraciously. My favorite book is also my favorite work of art of any medium, James Joyce's Ulysses. It's an annual tradition of mine to reread it on Bloomsday. Other favorites are The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann, Absalom, Absalom! by William Faulkner and Pale Fire by Vladimir Nabokov. I just read Leaving the Atocha Station by Ben Lerner and am currently reading The Hamlet by William Faulkner.

Some favorites from this past year have been, L.E. Sissman, Search Sweet Country by B. Kojo Laing, Memories of the Future by Sigizmund Krzhizhanovsky, and 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. Perennial favorites other than Joyce are Rilke, Shelley, Yeats, Hesse, Beckett, Mellville, Faulkner.

Ten favorite movies, no order: The Seventh Seal, There Will Be Blood, Sunrise, M, The Mirror, Serenity, Happy Gilmore, Batman Begins, Anchorman, Real Genius.

TV: When it's not baseball (Red Sox or Cardinals please), it's Futurama, Bob's Burgers, No Reservations, Parks and Recreation, Top Gear, Arrested Development, Mythbusters, Firefly, Fullmetal Alchemist, Venture Bros.

Here's my page. My standards are David Bowie, Converge, and Ivy. Lately I've been listening a lot to Dillnger Escape Plan, Camera Obscura, and Janelle Monae. I recently saw Deafheaven and BTBAM and will be soon seeing Dillinger Escape Plan, TesseracT, and Liars.

I love all kinds of food, sushi and Italian particularly. I can grill up a mean steak, but this doesn't mean I don't like tofu. I can go for Bugs-Bunny-as-a-teakettle spicy or modern French cuisine. My favorite restaurant in the city is India Quality.

The six things I could never do without
A pen
My family
The ineluctable modality of the visible
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Writing and art mostly. Baseball occasionally. As little as possible while running.
On a typical Friday night I am
I have a group of friends who sit in a bar, drink beers, and read Finnegans Wake. Then I run and do something low-key. Saturdays are a bigger go-out day for me. Soulelujah is a common occurrence.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can't help my love for the Cheap Trick song, "Dream Police." I am also a closet metal-head. Yeah, go ahead and reconcile that.
