I just want to have fun in this half of my life. Doesn't mean I am a man-child or irresponsible. Quite the opposite actually. Work hard, play hard as cliche as that sounds. Suck the most out of what this life has to offer. Adventures. Road trips. Scavenger Hunts. Bike races. An occasional baseball game where we really are keeping score of who's up on beers.
I'll cut to the chase because everyone skips to the back page of the book. Funny, sarcastic, dry, witty (with an H), imaginative, creative, warm on winter day like blanket. Yes, I did not use "a"s in the last sentence for the Russian effect.
Likes outdoorsy type stuff, cooking/grilling (I'll make the best rib eye you ever had), fermentation/distillation appreciation, eating paleo, going to shows, usually slumming it bar wise, ridin dirty, occasionally and ironically up in the club. Working on my next career as a bad guy actor. Kidding with this one, but have found out there are sooo many ways to say the line "KILL HIM."
Pretty honest to a fault. I won't exaggerate or lie on here. There is really no need to. To do so would be silly. I will admit I take bad pictures. And these aren't the best side I could be showing.
Last fall I was in Chicago for a presentation in front of a thousand people. Before I came out, the crowd was instructed to stand up and bust out their best dance moves for 10 seconds by the person before me (my job is kind of weird sometimes). I always heard with public speaking it's best to lead off with something light, ya know, like the fascists used to do. And I come out and apologize to the audience because I was busting out my sweet Magic Mike routine back stage and they all missed it. Everyone laughs. I talk a little. Miss a paragraph. Speed through speech like I won an award for technical excellence at the Oscars and grab a cocktail waiting for me back stage.
For some reason I was inspired to write this instead of the usual hubbabaloo about how laid back I am and blah blah blah because, not only is it a true story, but I think with a little critical thinking, a few deductions can be made. But I'll throw some hints...Serious about his job, so much so he is trusted to travel to other places to talk about it. Has a dry, smart, sarcastic sense of humor. Always like a good science joke. And has some pretty sweet dance moves for a white boy.
I will respect your opinions and thoughts if you promise to do the same.
Listen, don't just hear.
I believe in science. See above statement.
I stream NPR on KCRW on my way to work. It makes Atlanta traffic sound not so bad.
I'll ramble on about me later and make sure to include all of the things people like to hear.
