My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am pretty easygoing and I always try to be agreeable. I appreciate people who are open-minded and caring. In many ways I’m a big softie. I put great value in respect and compassion.

I try to be logical and rational, but emotions and feelings are really good at interfering with that tendency. I'm trying to acknowledge my emotions more; I think it's helping me be happier and more balanced.

"It's a magical world, Hobbes ol' buddy! Let's go exploring!"

My friends and family are kind enough to tell me I'm a pretty terrific guy. I tend to value their opinions very highly, so I think they're probably right. Most of my friends are unavailable for me to date though, so maybe you should try it.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Striving to enjoy and celebrate life as much as I can. Being as good a friend as possible.

Looking for someone to help share in as many pleasant experiences as possible.

Trying to expand my repertoire of various skills and abilities.

Also goofing around a lot.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Hugging, being quietly kind, laughing, word games, sympathy, sleeping, cooking, skiing, clamming, driving, trivia, science, eating, tickling, drinking, games, and drinking games.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Until recently it was my beard. I trimmed it, so now it's pretty normal.
If you meet me you will probably notice that I'm quiet. I usually speak softly, but when I do speak I try to make it worthwhile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Harry Potter, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Power of One, and The Phantom Tollbooth are my very favorites. I usually prefer nonfiction though, especially biology and natural history. I like David Quammen, E.O. Wilson, and Bill Bryson.

Movies: I usually prefer lighthearted and funny movies. I especially like Disney and Pixar. I’m kind of a sucker for romantic comedies.

TV: My favorite programs are either funny or informative. My two favorite people on TV are Tina Fey and David Attenborough. I can watch reruns of M*A*S*H until the proverbial cows come home. I also enjoy a solid Netflix binge of 30 Rock, Arrested Development, or The Office.
I recently started watching QI when I can get it. Stephen Fry is a treasure.

Music: I’m pretty open to enjoying many different kinds of music, and I always welcome more informed suggestions based on what I do like. I’ve always liked oldies (thanks Mom!), but I’ve recently gotten into more modern music. These days I really like Mumford and Sons, The Head and the Heart, and Of Monsters and Men, to name a few.

Food: There are very few foods that I don't enjoy. If I had to choose a cuisine to eat for the rest of my life, I would probably pick Thai. I love cooking, and I always like to try new things. Fresh seafood might be the quickest way to my heart.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The people I like to be around
Harry Potter audiobooks
Several pairs of cheap sunglasses
Pretty sights of all kinds
Nice smells and tastes
Activity
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to make myself and the people I care about happy.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Getting in increasingly boisterous conversations on increasingly specific topics with my increasingly inebriated friends. It's not at all unlikely that I may be found eating a couple of Dick's burgers.

Watching the Sounders if they're playing.

Or falling asleep on my couch while Netflix asks me if I'm still watching.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Every winter I watch It's A Wonderful Life by myself and cry like a baby.
