My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am an escapee from Bremerton who has lived mostly in Portland and Seattle as an adult. I am hungry for knowledge of the world around me, which mostly manifests in the odd ball projects I get involved with or the things I spend all night researching. Example: I don't like spiders, yet I know quite a lot about them! Did you know that they have an open circulatory system, and their limbs function off hydraulic pressure? This is why they curl up when they die; no more pressure means no more limb extension.

This knowledge doesn't help me sleep at night, often leading to more study.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working in a restaurant on Capitol Hill and having a good time with it.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
mathematics! I also like to believe that I'm a sound schemer.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm unusually silly, and I pet nearly every dog I see on my path.

I recently got Netflix (yep, I have arrived to the future finally) and I have been watching the hell out of Archer,Futurama, Workaholics, Courage The Cowardly Dog, and I'm starting It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia as well as various and sundry movies such as Primer.

Bookwise I really enjoy Jorge Lousie Borges, Catch-22 + Fahrenheit 451 + 1984 + Brave New World, many of the books by Terry Pratchett, and lets not forget Howards End.

Webcomics are something of a guilty pleasure; Oglaf, Girl Genius, Guilded Age, Quesitonable Content, Penny Arcade, XKCD, and last and certainly least I love (to hate) Dominic Deegan.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Bitter drinks. Coffee.
Cuddly dogs.
Good thick boots.
Friends to teach me and people to tutor.
Whisky and beer.
Mathematics and science.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Scale. The way the human body (and other bodies) are configured to deal with problems ranging from the cellular level to the macro level is fascinating to me. I some times wonder what sort of organism we are the building blocks of, in the way that our bodies are formed of things that are largely unaware of the greater whole.

I'm also concerned with what makes an idea into a theory as opposed to absurd navel gazing.

And for the last two or so years I have asked many many people what color their tail would be if they were a mer-person. What would yours be?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Walking dogs and being a dork. I like to grab friends and play board games or card games, Cards Against Humanity being a favorite. I'm making an attempt at improving the range and quality of my cooking.

I also like to curl up with a computer and try to figure out some frustrating problem, whether it is making a program function or figuring out a difficult math/simple programming problem.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't know why I'm doing this! I guess I've heard so many horror stories that I figured I could make friends if I appeared even remotely sane and reasonable.

There is something you are really good at and passionate about that you want to teach, there is an activity you want a new person for, or if you want to get coffee and maybe go on a date.

Also it helps if you're willing to meet in person. I must admit that I don't find messaging back and forth to be terribly interesting, I really like getting to know some one in person.
