My friends call me Nat. People who aren't my friends often call me
"Hey you." or "That scary looking dude over there".
I'm pretty open, and by both disposition and effort of will an
uncomplicated and straightforward person. Because of the social
realities of being single in a University town, I typically hang
with a younger crowd. It suits me fine most of the time, though the
musical chairs nature of peer groups in an ever transient college
population can sometimes get me down. But such is life.
Speaking of life... I think most people take it way too seriously.
I am a force for entropy in this world. My career as an IT
professional, contractually obligated to a major state university
to keep complicated systems working, is thus, an enormous and
perpetual source of irony. I am entropy's "inside man".
Procrastination.
A more expansive list will be added... tomorrow.
I'm Huge, typically sweat soaked (if you catch me at a club
dancing), and usually smiling.

Books, Fiction:
Dune,
The
Silmarillion, anything by
Stephan R. Donaldson,
Douglas
Adams, or
Robert Anton Wilson. I
recently read "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy and am still mulling
the imagery.
Books, Non-Fiction: The Selfish Gene. Gödel, Escher, Bach. Guns,
Germs, and Steele. Pop anthropology and war history are two areas
of recurring interest.
Movies:
Blade
Runner (theatrical cut, dammit!).
Donnie Darko.
Old Boy.
Miller's Crossing.
Music: Most of what I listen to is Electronic in one way or
another: Clubby
Goth/
Industrial/Synthpop (e.g. Covenant,
Combichrist, LadyTron) Dark-sh
Trance (e.g. Total Eclipse. Deepsky. Juno
Reactor)
Psytrance (e.g. Xenomorph, Dark
Nebula). And something I call Desi-Chill (Hindi and Persian
influenced
Downtempo e.g. Zeb, DJ Shah, Adham
Shaikh)
Music, Non-Electronic: some Classic Rock (Jethro Tull and Led
Zeppelin) Eastward leaning world music, like Kitka, and Niyaz. 70's
singer/songwriters.
Food: Sushi. Thai. Beef in all its wondrous forms. NO TOMATOES. I'm
not allergic... they just disgust me on multiple levels.
Aside from the inescapable requirements of life (food, water,
shelter, sleep... which aren't the point of this question) There is
really nothing that I can't do without. Everything in the universe
is incidental, and can be discarded at need.
