My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi, and thanks for taking a minute to read about me. It’s my hope to meet someone whose interests are similar, whose concern for fellow-man is well founded, whose heart is open and whose voice is full of melody.
My most fervent interest is music. All types. It's a total passion, and also been part of my work since college and even before. Note: a good match should feel no pressure to be a music fanatic - everyone loves some type of music and it's highly likely that we'll have some common favorites. I'm a great listener, solid speaker (I've produced and hosted radio shows up until recently), generally pleasant guy and pretty slow to anger. I can be considered smart, but understated, and you certainly won't find me pompous or condescending (few things are worse than that). I can hold a conversation.
I'm legally separated (it's over - just waiting on the legal system) and love spending time with my 9-year old regularly. I’m a “together” guy who would like to get together with a lovely, smart, fun-loving, caring lady in the near future.
I'm open to hearing the music from another.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Dancing (Contra currently is my favorite - taking Bachata lessons, too) Concerts (usually not the stadium type, but I can be flexible). I care for my kiddo; I have a beer with my buddies, play softball, run a soundboard at church, go to music festivals, play disc golf, work out at the gym (recently added yoga - now I understand).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Taking care of business.
The first things people usually notice about me

Music: This could go on for weeks, but as a cross-section, favorites include masters like The Beatles, James Brown, Johnny Cash, The Ramones and R.E.M. and newer artists like Radiohead, The Avett Brothers and Neko Case. Other favorite from 2012 (AKA if you're adventerous check these out: Electric Guest, Dr. John (w Dan Auerbach), Nada Surf, Lumineers, Yellow Ostrich, Lee Fields, The dB's, Kelly Hogan, Wedding Present, Steep Canyon Rangers, Kishi Bashi, Alabama Shakes, Grizzly Bear, and Tift Merritt. I've worked with Bettye LaVette, Pat DiNizio and Natalie Merchant in the recent past.
Books: Freakonomics and many biographies. Several books by Adam Hamilton and I also like Tony Campolo.
Food: Really open to all types of food from all locales - just can't handle the very hot stuff. Love sushi, Italian, dim sum, Vietnamese and Mac's BBQ.
