My Notes edit

My self-summary

A man who's inventive, literally as well as figuratively. A man who's been around the block, around America and around the world. A man who loves curling up with a good book or a good girl--or a bad girl. A man who'll order something different from the menu just because it's different. A man who's not into long walks on beaches but IS into long conversations, long games and long anything that requires using your mind. A man who doesn't think he looks younger than he is, but won't argue if YOU do.

An American of Italian ancestry--not an Italian-American!

Oh, and I come into LA frequently, for business and to visit friends.

Who am I looking for? You, if . . .

You are SINGLE, FEMALE and STRAIGHT (no bi's, please--admit it, you're not really looking to meet guys anyway).

You value intelligence as well as looks, character as well as chemistry, and prefer a good man with a hint of "bad boy" over a bad boy without a hint (or a clue, for that matter). You're white or (east) Asian, and you are a smart beauty yourself. You enjoy lots of different activities, and like using your mind as well as your body. Maybe you don't spend every day in a gym, but you care about your appearance--and you are NOT anorexic (if I want to hug a skeleton, I'll go to a Halloween party). You have strong values and beliefs, but you can agree to disagree, especially when it comes to religion and politics. You don't hate organized religion or people to the right of center and you support our troops AND their mission. You’re not a far leftie Democrat, an anti-life feminist, or an Obama voter, all of which are TOTAL turn-offs. In fact, if you ARE a far leftie Democrat and/or an anti-life feminist, stop reading RIGHT NOW and leave this profile. And if you voted for Obama, click on the "Hide from me" tab IMMEDIATELY and then leave this profile.

You like variety, whether it's in music, reading materials or restaurants. Speaking of restaurants, you are NOT a vegetarian or Vegan! I am one human who is glad to be at the top of the food chain.

I eventually want to settle down and have kids, so if you are looking for a long-term relationship, you are too. If you are just looking for someone to have fun with and do things with on occasion, then age, parental status and/or desire for children are less of an issue.

You are strictly monogamous--none of that "polyamorous" rubbish for you! You're kind, loving and witty, and you can take a joke as well as make one. You're serious when you need to be, but can be goofy when the mood strikes you. You like to talk and to listen, and you like to share but don't need to know every last secret, just like you keep some things about yourself to yourself.

Oh, and excessive tattooing and/or piercing is another big turn-off. One or two discretely located: OK. Inked up like a circus freak: not OK. Tramp stamps: out of the question.

What I'm doing with my life

A somewhat unconventional, i.e., non-9-to-5, lifestyle--working out of a home office, but also doing some work with a small law firm that's located about a hundred miles away in the LA area (long commutes are such fun *heh*). Mostly writing patents, both for others and for myself (hence the "inventive"), but lately branching out into other areas, including areas related to the Internet and e-commerce, and some very "specific" aspects thereof.

The home office is convenient, enabling care for an elderly father.

I'm really good at

Scrabble. Trivial Pursuit.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

You'd have to ask people who notice me.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Lord of the Rings and the rest of the Tolkien oeuvre; 1984; science fiction--Asimov, Clarke, Heinlein, Anderson, David Brin, Frank Herbert (some of his pre-Dune work was also very good), golden-age SF (Astounding SF and the like), Olaf Stapledon (extra points if you've heard of him); Tom Clancy (espec. Executive Orders); Dante's Divine Comedy (I'm starting to learn Italian) *** Movies: Forrest Gump, The Dirty Dozen, The Godfather, Goodfellas, LOTR, The Matrix trilogy, Terminator trilogy, The Sting, Animal House, 300, Red Dawn *** TV: 24, Lost, Heroes, Law & Order(s), Numb3rs, Hell's Kitchen, House, History Channel, Discovery Channel, Science Channel, Sci Fi Channel, Food Channel (IRON CHEF!) *** Music: classic rock (Doors, Stones, Beatles, Hendrix, Zep), KROQ espec. '80's and '90's: Depeche Mode, Joy Division/New Order, the Cure, the Clash, Siouxsie, B-52's, REM, X, Echo and the Bunnymen, B-Movie (my favorite song is "Nowhere Girl"), Oingo Boingo, the Police, Thomas Dolby, Talking Heads, lots of others, also some newer groups; techno; trance; classical; Korean pop/rock (studying Korean also, I lived there for about eight months and really liked it, favorites include "Takara" by Uhm Jung-hwa, "Uyon" by Baby Vox); many other types, except hip-hop, which makes me want to SMASH ANY RADIO IT'S PLAYING ON!!! *** Food: Italian, Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Japanese, Korean, Ethiopian and STEAK!

The six things I could never do without

Only six?

I spend a lot of time thinking about

National and world affairs--I'm a news and talk radio addict, especially Fox News, KRLA (Prager, Medved, Hewitt), KABC (O'Reilly, Hannity, Elder, Rantell, Levin, Bruce), KFI (Limbaugh), etc. And sports--KLAC(Jim Rome).

How I'm going to commercialize some of my inventions.

What nasty surprises I'm going to spring on my players in my D&D campaign.

My nieces and nephews.

On a typical Friday night I am

There is no typical Friday night.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I wish Sarah Palin had a clone ;)

You should message me if

You're in Southern California, especially IE, LA or south Orange County (I'm in San Clemente quite a bit) or intend to relocate to SoCal, or you're in the Las Vegas area, where I also often spend time, you've read anything interesting, and you want to. Sorry, I'm not interested in any longer-distance relationships.

I try to answer any reasonable message. And please DO send me a message--don't just list me or rate me. Take that extra step and WRITE. I don't bite!

Oh, and you DON'T have a webcam that you want me to check out--if you do, please don't bother wasting my time or yours. If you're under 30, you'll also need to convince me you actually want to meet me. If you're under 25, I'll find that very hard to believe.
