My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Recovering DC politico, looking for fun and love in the Bay Area.

I have a great sense of humor, but I am serious about my family and friendships. I love the outdoors but feel at most at home in a city.

I adore wearing dresses and then climbing a mountain in them (you should try it, soooo comfortable).

I like to travel and to have adventures but also enjoy a good Netflix binge-fest with my dog Mr. Bean.

I'll try anything twice.

I wake up thinking about breakfast.

I burst into song and dance when I think no one's around.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm figuring it all out.

So things are super exciting with me right now.

Last year I said peace to 11 years of success in DC and moved back to the "best" coast. It's been super awesome, and I don't regret it. Right now my world is open and full of possibilities, which is invigorating, freeing, exciting and just the tiniest a bit terrifying.

Did I expect to be settled by now? Hells yeah. But I am enjoying the ride.

I'm looking for a tour guide to introduce me to the wonders the Bay Area has to offer, a friend to chat with and perhaps more.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
cooking delicious meals, giggling, making a mess, playing games, cleaning up said mess, dancing, singing along, politics, talking about podcasts, binging on netflix, laughing--sometimes at you, others with you but mostly at me--and using my sarcastic wit.
The first things people usually notice about me

Well everyone says eyes and smile, so I'll go with

people often say I stand/move like a dancer.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: I love Christopher Moore, I adore anything by him but Lamb is my personal favorite. As a wee babe my father read my older sister and I the Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings, the Xanth Series before bed, so I do love me some good fantasy. I have devoured the entire works of Rushdie, Hornsby, Updike, Vonnegut, Silberstein, Irving, Burrows (tears), Klosterman, Rushdie and Shakespeare. I have read all the Harry Potter books more than twice.

Movies: The Usual Suspects is the best movie ever written, no question, that reveal the first time I watched it was amazing. When I go to the theater I am all about action, fantasy, sci-fi, anything with special effects and explosions makes me super happy.

Movies I enjoy on the small screen include Strictly Ballroom, Crazy People, Trainspotting, Fight Club, juno, but there are too many to list.

TV: Scrubs, Police Squad, Arrested Development 1-3, the League, the Mindy Project, Kids in the Hall, West Wing Seasons 1-4 and Dexter.

Music: Alkaline Trio is my go to happy sing along band. Also Imagine Dragons, Bastille, Lovin’ Spoonful, Elton John, Broken Bells, Matt and Kim, Black Keys, Kooks, Seven Nations to name a few. However Sublime is and will always be my jam.

Ah food, I love it so. I wake up every morning thinking about dinner and other treats I will get to eat that day. I love to cook and my favorite ingredient is eggplant.

When I go out, I am particularly inclined towards Asian foods; Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Thai. I love it so much that I have trouble deciding what to order. So if you like to share then you have a good chance of winning me over.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Mr. Bean, close friendships, belly laughs, sex, challenges to overcome, and adventures to be had.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What's next.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
spending quality time with good friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
More than one person has expressed the desire to follow me around with a video camera for week to see how my brain works....
