My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am Geeky, Irish, and Poly

I'm originally from Ireland - but moved to Minnesota in the Summer of 98. After a couple of years in Orange County, California and San Diego - I returned to Minnesota in 2003. Minnesota winters finally got the better of me and I've recently (2012) moved back toIrvine in Orange County again. Moving back to Irvine reminded me how much I missed California .....

I'm in a committed open poly relationship with One_Broke_Girl (meaning that I'm available and believe that multiple open honest relationships are possible).

I love music and live theater. I also like discovering new restaurants, shows, artists, etc. I love to travel and consider myself lucky to have traveled a lot. Experiencing differnet cultures has made me a better person.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm pretty laid back and like to experience a lot of different things. I like searching out new things like new music, art etc. I love making new friendships and flirting.

I'm a natural geek and you'll often find me pursuing geeky pursuits like video games. My current fave game is SWTOR. Previous favorites include Call of Duty 4 and Team Fortress. I also really like Flight Sim games like Microsoft Flight

I love watching live sports. I tend to be more drawn to minor-league or college sports than "big budget" sports.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I love to cook and bake. Trying new recipes is always fun. My goal is to discover a new dish every month!!

I'm a computer geek] - I love tinkering with my computers the way other people might tinker with cars. Its all about the upgrades !

I'm very logical and drawn to engineering and geeky type pursuits.
The first things people usually notice about me

Books: Too many to mention - but I'm usually buying books faster than I can read them. I love books that go into a lot of detail and let you feel like you are sharing the experience with the characters. I love auto-biographies. lately - I've been addicted to audio books - especially when they are narrated by the original author. I love fiction that is well researched.

I very often consume books as audio books which allows me to "read" many more books that I otherwise would.

Books I’m currently reading:

I Lost My Love in Baghdad: A Modern War Story - Michael Hastings (ok I keep starting this one but never really getting into it)
The Chalice & The Blade - Riane Eisler

Books I've recently finished:
Exit to Eden - Anne Rice
Inferno - Dan Brown
Gun Guys, a road trip - Dan Baum
The Marketplace - Laura Antoniou
Waiting to Be Heard - Amanda Knox
In the Plex - Steven Levy
Alison's Wonderland - Alison Tyler (Editor)
Don't Eat This Book - Morgan Spurlock
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - Stieg Larsson
The Girl Who Played With Fire - Stieg Larsson
The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest - Stieg Larsson
Age Is Just A Number - Dara Torres
Glock: The Rise of America's Gun Paul M. Barrett
My Life – Bill Clinton
Reality is Broken - Jane McGonigal
Airframe - Michael Crichton
The Department of Mad Scientists: Inside DARPA, the Path-Breaking Government Agency You've Never Heard Of - Michael Belfiore

Books waiting to be read:

Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking - Malcom Gladwell
Free: The Future of a Radical Price" - Chris Anderson
Life On Air: Memoirs of a broadcaster - David Attenborough
A Game of Thrones - George R. R. Martin
The Art of Deception – Kevin Mitnick
The Devotion of Suspect X - Keigo Higashino

Movies: Sneakers, Star Wars (the original), Old Sci-Fi movies, Old Horror movies (when they depended on your imagination more than state of the art effects), Where Eagles Dare, anything with Cary grant or Katherine Hepburn. Old John Wayne Movies. I love movies that are creative and lead you thru the unexpected - I'm drawn to a lot of indie movies for this very reason. The last movie I saw in the theater was Silver Linings Playbook. I'm a Netflix junkie.

Music: Van Morrison, Shakira, NiN, Paul Brady, Bonnie Raitt, Paul Oakenfold, Lilly Allen (before she was famous), Katy Perry, Anatastacia, The chieftains, Afro Celt soundsystem. I love discovering new music and try not to let my tastes stop me from finding new artists. The "new artist of the week" on itunes is a regular stop for me. My music collection contains pretty much every type of music that exists.

Foods: I love most foods and love discovering new restaurants.

Television: Love dramas and love science-based shows.
