For some reason I imagined it would feel something other that it did, which was just, well 'meh'.
The usual joke is that it's all downhill from here. Which is fair enough, but the other options don't exactly offer much, either being all uphill from here, or just all the same from here.
One unsettling thought is that I'm now older than Homer Simpson. I can't look at him in the same mocking, superior way anymore. He's settled with a wife and kids, has a nice home and steady job, and been an astronaut among many other achievements.
Incidentally, I discovered years ago that I share the same birthday as Rembrandt, the master of light and shade - and immediately felt a spiritual and artistic kinship that resonated magically through alignments of the cosmos. But, as I recently discovered, I also have the exact same birthday as Barney from the Simpsons. I feel I've been robbed.
I'm a computer artist, animator, film maker, programmer and musician. I look to digital art as the evolution of fine art, using computers to augment human imagination, which has reached its limits. I lose myself in programming code, mathematics, algorithms - generating art and motion inspired by science and nature.
I love philosophy, which literally means 'love of wisdom'. So I Love the love of wisdom. I also love science, which is only a recent term. In the times of Newton - scientists were called 'natural philosophers'. So I could conceitedly describe myself a lover of the love of the wisdom of nature.
I believe in knowledge and reason, in humanism and Buddhist philosophy. My dream is one day to have real conversations with someone as good as the imaginary conversations in my head!
If you were to look through the mental cupboards of my favorite things, they would be messily heaped up with the following at the front, (but also maybe important stuff I've forgotten hidden in the back, .i.e. not in the list) -

Koyaanisqatsi. George Harrison. Coffee, Meditation, Playstation, iPhones, Puzzles, Board Games, Card Games, Walking, Dogs, Horses, Animals.
