My Notes edit

My self-summary

I very much enjoy entertaining people. When out with friends I will usually have them laughing and smiling the next day about our conversations. I'm laid back, easy going and open. I love to laugh and enjoy making others laugh too.

I have many varied interests and enjoy trying different activities in different social circles so I meet new people.

I enjoy doing random acts of kindness to help out someone when they don't expect it. The experience makes us both smile and makes both of our days. I'm hopeful that those people pay it forward.

I'm usually smiling b/c of my goofy sense of humor keeps me entertained. I enjoy smiling around people and they cannot help but to smile back. It brightens both our days.

People are the spices of life and I enjoy a good mixture of my spices. I try to stay away from the habenaros (drama queens and kings) that give me heartburn though. I find gloom and doom people draining.

I love live events where there is so much energy. Jazzfest & Mardi Gras in New Orleans some of my favorite, but always on the lookout for more music festivals. Broadway plays (Les Mis is my favorite) and operas (Carmen is amazing) are awesome. There is nothing quite like a night out on the town with someone special.

Being social and getting out and playing is so vitally important to me. I have many varied interests and belong to many different clubs and groups. I go salsa dancing; hiking; kayaking; camping; live music events and festivals; dogs; broadway plays; opera; dancing; fishing; gardending; great conversations; good friends and family, etc.

So, come out and play!

What I'm doing with my life

Getting out into the world and having fun. I love to learn new things and exploring new hobbies.

I'm training my beagle mix doggie named Buddy. I should have thought about one thing when naming him. Who ate the food off of the counter? No Buddy (nobody). It is nice when we walk up to people and they don't know him and then they say hey buddy. He thinks they already know his name.

I enjoy taking Buddy to Bark Park or on long walks in White Plains. If you love dogs that is a huge plus. Then you understand the unconditional love that dogs give and just how special they are. Even if I have a tough day it is so much better after I see my doggie wagging his tail just b/c I walked in the door. Ok, maybe treats have something to do with it also.

I'm really good at

Making people feel at ease and genuinely welcome when I meet them. I believe that each person that I meet adds something to my life and has something to teach me. Unfortunately, a few times the only thing that I have learned was to be more patience. Having honest and open conversations about life is such a pleasure to me.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

That I have a kind smile and that I am a genuinely easy going nice person. Then the people notice my off-beat goofy sence of humor. I try to look at the positive and funny side of life. Some people notice my laugh first b/c it is so loud and free. (Shhh, Ed. Inside voice.).

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I enjoy reading readers digest and find it very inspirational. I always learn something new from each month.

Over the years my favorite author has been Steven King who has the ability to scare my inner child. Excuse me, I have to check under my bed. :-)

Harry Potter books were a nice read.

Biographies are nice to take a vicarious journey through someone's life.

One of my favorite movies is The Princess Bride. "Inconceivable"
I see various types of movies b/c it depends upon my mood what I'm up for. I'm not into crazy independent films where I'm trying to figure out what the hell is going on and why I'm not outside playing.

I like a wide variety of music. Classic rock is my favorite music. Billy Joel; Neil Young; Dead; The Who; etc. are some of my favorites. I also like the East Village Opera Company. Crooked Stills rock. Zydeco and blues were a lot of fun to get into in Lousiana.

I enjoy traveling to new places and having new experiences. I lived in Louisiana for 6 years and love so many diverse types of foods. Each meal down there was better than the last. The food is to die for--literally. Eat enough of the rich food and you will burst.

I am not a great cook but I highly recommend buying some of the River Road cookbooks put out by the Baton Rouge, LA Womans Junior League. Those recipes kick butt. Most every single house in New Orleans has as least one of those cook books.

The six things I could never do without

1. My God. 2. Buddy my doggie. 2. My family and friends. 3. My self respect. 4. Seeing live events like concerts, Broadway Plays, operas, which can never be duplicated the next night exactly, no matter how hard they try. 5. Growing roses, vegtables and plants, and being close to nature. I enjoy digging in the dirt. 6. Work and Learning.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I think a lot about how to help people. I think about my family, friends, career and having fun. I go to a lot of meetup.com events and activities. We all laugh so much in the various activies I do while I make new friends. So if you have never been to one of those events email me.

I have great empahy for the lost souls who just stay at home and watch the world go by. My advice is to try contrary action. Get out of your comfort zone and make new friends and find new hobbies.

On a typical Friday night I am

Out with friends having a wonderful time laughing while exploring the world. New experiences keep life fresh and exciting.

I want to do so many things on Friday, but there are always too many things going on at the same time. Hmm, decisions, decisions.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I'm pretty much an open book. I talk to people like I have known them forever. Most of the time it works great and I get to know someone very well and we become dear friends.

I have no tolerance for mean and nasty people. I try to surround myself with nice and kind people. The nasties, crazies and drama people get cut out of my life like the cancer that they are.

You should message me if

You should message me if you would like to get to know me better. I enjoy meeting new people because we all have something to share.
