I am Realistic, Analytical, and a Utilitarian.

My Self-Summary

Well to start, my name is Tim. Good start.

Let's see... What do I summarize myself into? An average looking college student set on torturing himself with delusions of getting into Med school, who postulates many theoretical philosophical ideas about himself once in a while? Sure.
An over-analyzing, emotionless, calm reality call? sometimes.

I am a lot of things, most of them nice and fun, others, not so much. I do tend to do quite a few things more often than others, the main one being that I analyze situations and people more than necessary, and don't like to blame anything on chance.

Speaking of which, I don't believe in chance, a rather depressing notion sometimes, which if you want to look up, is called determinism. People are not random, neither is the world, simply many layers of overlapping and intertwining variables and factors so that one cannot hope to understand or predict them all.

As a college student, I am still under the impression that anyone can, and will, change. Hopefully for the better. I am not a great linguist nor speaker, though I try. Also being in college also means that I have no real money, am going to acquire more debt very soon, and yet still work my ass off... Gotta love it.

Though I swore off relationships for quite a while, mainly to focus on my studies, I have since decided that they can't hurt that much, and bring joy and dynamic to my life. So now it's another go at the whole dating scene, though I have to say I am little less than thrilled about this stage of relationships...

There is always work before reward, otherwise it isn't a reward.

What I’m doing with my life

Currently, I am attending Oakland Community College... (OCC, Only chance college as it is so amorously called.) Very fun, informative, and cheap. By cheap, I mean, I have accumulated a couple years worth of credits and no debt so far. I am very happy about that, though it does come with a cost, a lack of campus puts a damper on making friends and social gatherings, as such, I have a rather small group of friends.

What am I actually going to do with my life? Medicine, or Biology... I find the human body, and how it compares and related to other organisms, extremely fascinating. Hence trying to make it all the way to, and through, Med School. Big dream, built on small finances and a more stable economically sounds country, which seems to be failing me. Can only hope that it all turns out well.

I’m really good at

Video Games. I hate to say it, and have been cutting down a lot, but I have played more than my share of video games. Mostly Role Playing Games or First person shooters. I used to play World of Warcraft, but have been clean for nearly six months. (Thank you.) I am still an avid fan of the Final Fantasy series, and am still looking forward to FF XIII. Though as of late, video games have been taking a back seat to school and my piano practices.

I am getting quite decent at playing the piano, seeing as how I have been working on it for about two years now. I am a little off and on with my practice schedule, but I have been doing decently.

Well, I am pretty good at studying with one other person, though when a group forms I tend to get off track much too easily.

The first things people usually notice about me

I wish I knew. I can guess though.
My height, I am pretty tall, though not amazingly so, only 6'1".
My lack of fashion sense...
My facial hair, depends on the day.
My ridiculous smile, I scrunch up my entire face when I truly smile.
I have been told my eyes are striking, if I manage to meet someones gaze for more than a few seconds. I am always afraid people are able to read me too well if they maintain eye contact... unreasonable, I know.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Favorite Book? Well, that is an extremely hard one. I love fiction, graphic novels, non-fiction, and my textbooks. I used to read much more than I do now, but that is due to my classes and schedule. Though I do sometimes destroy my entire schedule for a book if it is good enough.
As of late, I have been reading Assassin's apprentice. Not bad, but I have yet to stay up reading into the morning light.

As for movies, I have fallen behind in. I kinda want to go see "9" but I have heard a few bad things. And I never know actors when people reference them, nor famous people.

I am pretty open abut music, even rap. Not that I listen to it myself, but I can tolerate it. Always just seemed so superficial. I listen to a lot of "electronic Indie pop" whatever that means... Bands like Owl City, The Postal Service, and Death Cab for Cutie. Though I also like a plethora of bands from many different genres. Nine Inch Nails, Regina Spektor, The Beatles, Rise Against, The Pillows, Bloc Party... etc.

As for Food, I'll try anything once, though I have a special place in my heart for "meat and potatoes" kinda food. Must be the Polish in me...

The six things I could never do without

Priorities hm...
1. A vehicle for travel, I need to feel like I can leave at anytime, and go anywhere if I really wanted to.
2. Friends/Family, though sometimes they are a pain, I love them regardless.
3. An instrument, be it a Cello, piano, guitar, something I can play and express myself with, even poorly.
4. My books, I love to read the ideas of others.
5. My classes... I love the sense of purpose and meaning they give me, and I am not sure what I will do when I finish school.
6. My intellect. I can get lost in thought for hours at a time, I don't ever want to lose that.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Theoretical Philosophical views of humanity and globalization? Video Games? What my friend was implying with a recent remark? How to play that theme on the piano, and how the rhythm works? I spend a lot of time thinking about quite a number of things, as I am sure most people do.
Very recently it has been why I have been abstaining from relationships, to which I could not answer myself convincingly.

On a typical Friday night I am

Most likely at home, on the computer, piano, or just reading. Most of the time I spend out with friends and away from home is during the week, between classes.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I am more attracted to guys. Hate to say sometimes, as there are a lot less gay/bi guys to choose from in the world, and I like females' personalities more.

I am annoyed by guys who act like girls, though I tolerate them. And yet I like Tomboys... seems kinda hypocritical to me.

You should message me if

You would like to talk. Or maybe just work out together, or if you have any questions? I don't know, whatever reason you have for messaging me, go ahead and do it, I like talking. : D
