I'm the type of person who doesn't drink coffee, tea, or soda in
the morning, yet I'm still voted (by my students) to be the most
caffeinated teacher they know. I find that amusing and a bit
flattering. Being highly caffeinated would imply that I am
hyperactive, and by far, I'm not. When I get home from work, all I
want to do is relax by reading a book, watching TV, or watching my
fish swim. I'm fairly serious. At least, two out of those
activities are part of my normal routine. If I'm feeling wild and
crazy, I'll have a margarita at a nice restaurant with friends or
people watch at a nice mall. I really can have just one drink, and
then it's over for me.
I've started my 3rd year teaching Sophomore Language Arts, and
the money makes me feel like a millionaire. I'm not materialistic,
and my friends would say I actually have a problem spending money.
It seems okay to me though. I like having money in the bank.

What I'm doing with my life
Like I said, I'm teaching. I spend a lot of time at
school grading and lesson-planning. In my spare time I love to take
my manual film camera to do landscape and nature photography (I'm
not good, so if that is totally your thing, then be prepared to
teach me!). During my college years, I worked as a floral designer,
so I continue that as a hobby today. I enjoy giving away silk
arrangements. I also REALLY enjoy barbecuing just about anything
and sipping the afternoon away on my porch listening to the hum and
chirp of hummingbirds.
I'm really good at
I really good at making my students smile and creating unique
activities to lessen the dullness of school-life. And, I love
driving my Miata through the twists and turns of the San Bernardino
mountains.

I am a literature teacher in high school, so I tend to like books.
However, reading is not a hobby I define myself as having. My
favorite novel is "Cold Mountain" by Charles Frasier. I'm liking

right now. I'll read anything if it's a tried and true classic with
a universal message.
I love going to the movies on a Friday or Saturday night. But, I'll only go out to the theater if the movie has good reviews or a friend has said it's a "must-see." I love the thinker-movies with big surprise endings. Since I am a romantic, I enjoy the boy meets girl, boy chases girl, boy wins girl movies. Other favorites include: "Little Miss Sunshine," "Boys Don't Cry," "Toy Story," "October Sky," "A Beautiful Mind," and "Moulin Rouge."
