I am reading, writing, and arithmetic..

My Self-Summary

Writing major at Pratt Institute. Grew up in Michigan, but moved here about a year ago to go to school in Brooklyn.

I enjoy using and abusing sarcasm.
I like people who know when to be serious and when to just enjoy living in the moment.
If I really like someone, I'll probably be a little nervous and quiet at first, but soon I'll open up. (I promise!)
I'm a great listener and really attentive. I easily pick up on little details.

What I’m doing with my life

My ultimate goal is to become a screenwriter. I'm obsessed with the TV show Lost. It sorta got me thinking about screenwriting in the first place, though I've been writing for most of my life.

I'm not sure whether I want to stay in NYC after college, but it sure as hell beats living in Michigan.

I’m really good at

Being awkward around people I like or think are "kool."
Making politically incorrect / obscene jokes.
Writing.
Giving advice, when it's asked for and when it's not.
Not missing an episode of one of the many shows I watch religiously, trashy or otherwise.

The first things people usually notice about me

Probably my hair.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Everything by Mark Z. Danielewski, Chuck Palahniuk, and James Joyce. Others - Catch-22, The Crying of Lot 49, and Mrs. Dalloway.

Films: Everything by Quentin Tarantino, M. Night Shyamalan, Charlie Kaufman, and David Lynch. Others - No Country For Old Men, Let The Right One In, and the Saw movies (I like campy ones sometimes, okay?).

Music: Of Montreal, Snow Patrol, Cold War Kids, The Dear Hunter, Vampire Weekend, Architecture In Helsinki, MGMT, The Format, Modest Mouse.

TV: Lost, The Office, True Blood, Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Fringe, Dexter, Twin Peaks, Pushing Daisies, The X-Files.

Food: Thai, or anything spicy.

The six things I could never do without

Family (especially cousins) and best friends.
Television.
FranklinCovey planner.
Plaid.
Moleskine and pen.
Literature.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Connections between people, especially the theory of Six Degrees of Separation.

I am fascinated by the little "coincidences" of life. (Fate?)

On a typical Friday night I am

Hanging out with friends, going into the city, or watching a good movie in bed.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I've never been to the dentist, but people tell me I have really good teeth.

You should message me if

You think it's more cute than creepy when someone mentions a detail you told them a long time ago.
